I found some moving dots in the new growth on my Swiss Mint Monstera. I took care of them immediately and moved the plant to its own area. I saw another moving in the soil but lost it. Can anyone help identify? Really hope itās not Thrips. #MonsteraMonday #PestControl #RarePlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth

Those look like Blackfly Aphids AKA Black Bean Aphids.
They are different than normal aphids because most are wingless. But they can be reddish brown, black etc. their color an even change depending on what they are feeding on.
Mycellium is not a bug at all but a beneficial organism that lives in the soil. So your ChatGPT was eyeballing the soil.
Really easy to treat once a week spray her with:
1 tablespoon. Pure neem oil + 4 cups of water
1 usually just mix it up in a spray bottle and wet her down thoroughly, don't forget the stems and undersides if leaves.
Do that for 3 weeks and they should be gone by then.

Leaf rollers are notorious for mites āany plant that unrolls a joint into a new leafā invites spider mites to the party.
Half a bottle of warm water couple drops of cheap dish liquid will annihilate them almost immediately.
Garlic powder in a spray bottle also works as a repellent that biologically breaks down soft exoskeletons of insects

Never use any form of dish soap cheap or expensive on plant leaves. That will strip away the cuticle, with an outermost layer of epicuticular wax.
If you do that is opens your plant up to fungal and bacterial infections and pests. It causes the leaves to dry out, that wax helps them retain moisture. And helps to prevent sunburn on their leaves.
If you want to recommend soap the please recommend plant safe soap like Castile Soap that will not harm the plant.
While I thank you for wanting to learn and help. It's important to recommend thing that will not harm others plants.

@SuperbRaspfern I say this bc it works on my very expensive plants multiple times & donāt have issues unlike using neem oil. Iām not here bc Iām making random guesses I made a suggestion that has worked for me. You can also YouTube melenialgardner on YouTube & watch a very good demonstration of it killing local bugs here in the area, even the hard to kill ones..

Sorry, also garlic powder is a no-no on plants it will cause mold. And garlic powder does NOT have allicin the compound in fresh garlic that will deter pests. Allicin is the compound needed that is pungent enough to deter it is organosulfur compound that gives fresh garlic its smell and taste.
