Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.

To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Coast Redwood 'Henderson Blue' after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

My baby coastal redwood is slowly turning brown, but I also has vibrant new growth at the bottom. Soil is moist but not soggy. It gets good late morning, early afternoon sun. I'm not even sure if this is a problem. Any advice will help #Redwood

This isn’t bad, right? So for a few months I’ve been trying to take care of a redwood sapling, and recently it’s been kinda giving up on me. So I hypothesized that it might be my drier climate that’s upsetting him, and have been covering him with a DIY humidity dome. Just today, I noticed a little sprout coming out of the ground! How is that possible? It’s not bad, right? It just amazed me, and I wanna make sure it’s not symptomatic of something terrible lol #NewGrowth #Trees #humiditylovers

Is there any saving my baby redwood? A few months ago, I got one of those tiny redwoods that are sold in the plastic containers and brought him home. In the past month though, he’s completely yellowed and the leaves are dry to the touch. I think I’m watering him enough, and for a stint I even covered him with a mason jar for humidity (I don’t think it did anything, though) Anyone got any ideas? I’m not experienced with these plants, but I really don’t want him to die :’) #PlantClinic #PlantGraveyard #PlantAddict #Trees

My sequoia sapling is really dry? Worried Hey, I recently potted this little sapling, and about a week ago noticed he was feeling… crunchier I guess? But I thought he might just be wanting water, and watered him thoroughly. But he’s still not coming back from feeling dry? Is there something I’m doing wrong? I just don’t want him to die! #plantcare

Yellowing needles and dieback I just moved down the FL on the pan handle and this tree wasn't in great shape before but the drive down didn't help either. My soil substrate is 4 parts course perlite, 1 part coco coir with 1 part peat moss both of my redwoods are sitting under full shade due to the heat here right now and im watering when the topsoil becomes somewhat dry, what else can I do to help this tree to recover? It is currently ontop of a large stone tied in jute fiber and some wire to keep it from moving because I am training this tree for Bonsai. As you can see the tree has suffered a lot of dieback and yellowing. I wired this one earlier in the season and I just repotted these guys in April, I took the wire off two weeks ago because I noticed some nasty wirebite. I have 30% shade cloth I can employ as well if we think some sunlight under that would suit these guys better. My other one is doing great though but please let me know what I should be doing to help this guy recover! #Redwood

Wilting and losing its color I have two coast redwoods (sequoia, sempervirens). One is doing very well, however, the other one has started to wilt and lose its green color. What can I do to help bring it back, or is it too far gone? Please help 😬 #redwood
