How to fertilize Small-Leaf Guava
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Small-Leaf Guava after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

How to encourage branching? I have a small forest of potted guava trees indoors. I started them all from seed two springs back. They struggled their first year, barely gaining a few inches. Last summer, they flourished - this one grew from three inches to over 5 feet! However, some of them are not branching (including this one)) I read that this could be from being root bound. However, I repotted this monster today and found it was not spiraling at all and had few roots bunched at the bottom of the container. I trimmed these anyway and potted it up to a #2 nursery pot. It doesn’t seem leggy in form, though it can’t support itself yet. Its trunk is thin, so I don’t think I can notch it. I’m reluctant to chop it down to chest height, though I suspect that’s what it needs. So, Greggers, what would you do with this plant this spring? #GuavaTree #RepotSeason #Branching #NotBranching #pruning #pruningseason #FruitTrees #guava #IndoorTree #IndoorGrowing

Why are leaves drooping? It has several fruit. Watering has been regularly. I've noticed a few yellow leaves.

To stake or not to stake? This little guy has grown almost as much this spring as all last summer. I’m guessing it’s time to give in and give him a little light support until he can stand on his own. On the other hand, if it stays leaned over like this, maybe it’ll branch where it turns #guava #GuavaTree #sapling #tree #stake
