How to fertilize Philodendron Hastatum

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Philodendron Hastatum after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

The play of light on my Silver Sword Philodendron's leaf right now is *mesmerizing*! Part of it is the grow light above, but I'm not sure what else is happening to make all those colors!! 🌈 The first (was supposed to be last but you know how Greg be 🤭) photo is of another leaf that didn't get the rainbow treatment. #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #silverswordphilodendron #philodendron #philoflock #planttherapy #growlights #greggang #plantmafia #theamigos #jesssjungle

Guys!! I’m so excited! My silver sword is making its first flower!!!! A flower AND new stem/leaf! It’s my easiest plant. I’ve had it for a few years. Inside during winter but outside on the covered porch which gets about 2 hours of direct sun. It’s around 4 feet tall. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #FloweringPlants #floweringplant #PlantTherapy

She seems healthy, beautiful leaves and new leaves looking ready to pop open, but they've been growing at such a slow pace for the past month... Ideas why? #Philodendron

#PlantSpotLight I just feel like Eduardo deserves a spotlight! He is my #SilverSwordPhilodendron and his leaves are MASSIVE and he is just a laid-back, easygoing dude. The second photo is a close-up of his newest leaf, and the third shows two aerial roots that have grown very snugly in the hollow of a petiole, lol. The last photo is #BonnieTheTreeFrog saying hello! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #Philodendron #PhiloFlock #PlantTherapy #GregGang #babevila

What other plant parents say

Very beautiful, big leaves. Grows very quickly, especially when it’s little. Easy to care for and not labour intensive.
Only downside, not really a downside, just a note really. Leaves brown very easily. Bruised leaves will brown quite quickly, and they are delicate so they tend to bruise easily.
