How to fertilize Arborescent Prickly Pear
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Arborescent Prickly Pear after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Just got my first one and wondering if I would use cactus soil for her instead of regular potting soil to replant in a week or so. #PricklyPear

Any idea what this is? Hello all. My bunny ear has what I believe is shedding at its base. My intuition is either a fungi or rot. I’m new to plants let alone cacti. Any advice on what it is and how to stop it before it’s too late? #PricklyPear

Why is he curling? I’ve had this little guy for about 2 months now and he is really bending and curling! I have tried really cutting down on the watering and it seems like that hasn’t helped. I’ve tried rotating him to make sure he is getting even light. If anyone has any tips please let me know! Also would it help to stake him up? Thanks! #PricklyPear

Will these straighten out? #PricklyPear my plant has so much new growth and I keep moving the grow light around but will these end up straightening out on their own? Probably my favorite plant right now. This app has me feeling like a plant champ!

Help! Does anybody know what these brown spots are on my prickly pear cactus? I can peel it off but I’m wondering if it’s a type of cactus bug and if it could spread to my other plants? #plantsmakepeoplehappy #cactusclique #cactus #pricklypearcactus #pricklypear #pestcontrol #pestsandplants

Winter watering, mine still seems thirsty? #PricklyPear I’m located in Phoenix and have kept my variegated Joseph’s coat cactus outside since the spring and brought it in about a month ago. I had to consistently water it to keep up with Phoenix heat. It’s been under a grow light since bringing it inside. I’ve cut back on the water (was every few days because of the heat) to what has been once every two weeks but the pad offshoots seem to be curling and I can only guess this is from being thirsty? Does anyone else have any other thoughts on why they would curl? I added a photo of what they look like today versus even just at the beginning of the week. Thanks in advance!
