How to fertilize Basil Mint

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Basil Mint after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Why is my mint so sad and spindly? Hi! My mint plant is about a year old and has gone from thriving to thin. Any tips to bring my plant back are greatly appreciated! #HappyPlants

Eggs on peppermint- anybody recognize? Wondering if anybody’s seen similar eggs on their mints or plants in general, I’m having a hard time IDing them. These are the only 4 on the whole plant(as of now) Tbh i think they’re beautiful lil pearls and if I can’t figure out what they are I’ll try propitiating the egged chunk of mint in a bug container to see what happens🤷♀️ #PestControl #OutdoorGrowing #WhatsThisBug #mysteryeggs

Mint is growing weird. Please help. Hi, I have a mojito mint close to west window and it is growing weirdly. Can anyone tell me why its stems are going all over the place and bending? Also, I am noticing some cracks in the old leaves. Does anyone know anything about it? And some stems are getting small leaves. Is it common to have small leaves? Do they grow with time? Please refer the pictures. Any help is appreciated!! #mint #summer #leaves #droppystems

Like parent, like plant? Okay, so I started these #peppermint plants last spring. This year, they're as weird as I am. XD They grew like mad all last year, but I didn't get out to winter or weatherize them at all before snow fell (I live in southern Michigan) . At that point, they became a science experiment; Let's see what happens if I just leave it alone and out to the elements. So I did. Now. This spring, I seem to have gotten 4 or 5 different versions of mint. XD Can anyone tell me what's actually happening here? Like, the reasons behind why they would take on these different forms? The one that's very stringy and tall was facing the west, and got much hotter and much more sun that the other, which was on the north side and got better Temps and light. Other than that, I can't see why they're all so different!

What is this bug that it has? It resembles a 🐛 but I’m unsure as to what it is exactly. So far it appears to only be in my spearmint, but I’m afraid it might spread. I’m gonna distance it from my other plants just in case. Any tips? #Spearmint #PestControl

Does anyone know if Apple Mint and Spearmint are one and the same, or are they just really closely related? The only way I can tell the difference between Apple Mint and Spearmint is the leaves. They smell and taste the same to me. #AppleMint

More pest help pls🙃 UPDATE: adding more photos since I found patient-zero, my moms zucchini plant is covered in them🙃 thankfully after a hefty dose of cinnamon I haven’t found any more on my own plants, although im still convinced im finding new bite marks on my echeveria. Very similar looking to flea beetles but I can’t get them to jump. Spotted this lil guy on my mint today who I never would’ve noticed if he wasn’t moving. I’ve been concerned about spider mites recently, is that what this is? Or Is anybody able to ID what this is & recommend some treatment/protection for my other plants? I couldn’t find others anywhere but it’s so small I wouldn’t doubt there’s more hiding. #PestControl #WhatsThisBug

My leaves are turning yellow. What does that mean? #Watermint

Anyone know why my mint leaves are turning dark brown? I would really appreciate it? Should I be concerned #Mint

☀️ Sunlight Needs
Basil Mint requires abundant, bright and direct light. Place it less than one foot from a window to ensure it receives enough light to survive 💪. Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement in your home 🏡.
🐶 🐈 👶 Toxicity
Greg does not have confirmed data on this plant’s toxicity. If you, a family member, or a pet consumes plant material of unknown toxicity, it’s always best to consult a medical professional.
If you or someone else ingested this plant, call Poison Control at US (800) 222-1222. If a pet consumed this plant, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA at US (888) 426-4435.
💨 Humidity
Basil Mint doesn’t require additional humidity. Plants absorb most water through their root system rather than their leaves, so the best way to provide humidity for your plants is through watering the soil.
🪴 Soil
Basil Mint does best in well-draining soil. A good soil will contain lots of organic matter such as coco coir as well as perlite or vermiculite to help with drainage. Adding a handful of perlite to regular store-bought potting soil should do the trick!
💩 Fertilizer
Basil Mint is a fast growing plant and may deplete the nutrients in its soil over time. Replenish them with a gentle organic fertilizer or compost every 1-2 months depending on your location and season. Fertilize more often during the growing season and in warmer and brighter climates.
🌎 Native Region
Basil Mint is native to Worldwide.
🧐 Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
