Finding light for Echeveria colorata in your home
Echeveria colorata love being close to bright, sunny windows 😎.
Place it less than 1ft from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Echeveria colorata does not tolerate low-light 🚫.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Echeveria colorata in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Echeveria colorata
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Echeveria colorata after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Help😰 Got this baby just over a week ago and was letting her sit and acclimate but upon checking on her today she had basically disintegrated from easily half way down her stem🥺 I pulled off as many salvageable leaves as I could to try and prop them. There isn’t much left of her stem that hasn’t rotted so do you guys think if I chop her under the browned portion do you think I could prop her head too? #GregGang #SucculentSquad #Propagation #sadplants

Should I be worried? My echeveria colorata is sending roots out the bottom of her pot even though I feel it's highly unlikely she's outgrown it overall. It's wider than her by about an inch all around and deeper than she is tall by about an inch as well. When I water her, I move the pot to a larger pan to drain since I'm generally watering all of my succulents at the same time, so there isn't really ever water sitting in the plastic drip tray under the pot that the roots would be seeking I don't think. Is this pot too shallow? Does she need a deeper one? Do I just ignore the roots or do I trim them and otherwise leave everything alone? #whatthesuccwednesday #succulentsquad #succulentlove #echeveria #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #texasgreggang #northtexasgreggang

Supplementing sunlight with grow lights? @AnthuriumQueen @vvvelo and other #succulentsquad #succulentlove folks, I have a question. This is my succulent setup at present. Everybody is lined up along my dining room window sill, which is basically a straight southern exposure. But, and it's a big but, we replaced all our windows when we bought our house because they were the original mid-80s builder-grade crappy ones and lots of them had broken seals, etc. Now we have lovely triple pane gas-insulated windows that are fantastic for our electric bill but I'm suspecting they filter more sunlight than I'd like for the sake of my succs. Should I supplement with grow lights? And if so, which one(s)? I could put some with smaller stands in the window sill with them but there's not really anywhere to hang lights above them, and I'd have to rig something up if I was to do something that had a clamp setup. I also need something that isn't crazy colors/is migraine friendly as 3 of 4 people in the house are prone to them and we all pretty photosensitive, and this room is heavily trafficked. #happyplants #plantaddict #plantsmakepeoplehappy #growlights #texasgreggang

Put this beauty in a bigger pot! I hope I didn’t stress her out too much.. I just did extra research and saw that the leaves can get to wet close to soil and rot. I repotted a bunch of other plants today and hope they will be okay too! I was disappointed to find some of the succulents bottom leaves being close or buried to soil.. any sugggestions on cleaning soil off succulents after receiving them in buried in soil?

In love with my new #echeveriadarkvader. It will go nicely with my other echeveria similar to this folded leaf phenotype. Cubic frost, arctic ice, dark vader, topsy Turvy, Irish mint #succulentlove #echeveria #happyplants

Happy Monday #GregGang 🌱 I hope everyone had a great weekend, & start of the week. Today I visited a new nursery, in Apex. I’ve never been there but I was so amazed by the variety of plants for indoor and out! It was hard not to go crazy, but I only walked out with two plants! 🙀😂 1. painter’s palette (anthurium andraeanum) 🎨 2. Andromischus cooperi (similar to calico hearts, just a different leaf shape) 3. Echeveria from my haul a couple weeks ago. It was starting to etoliate at the store, it’s already looking better, I’m slowly introducing it to more light. If anyone knows what type of echeveria this is, please comment! #PlantID #identify #PlantInfo #echeveria 4. Another repot, graptopetalum ‘ghosty’, they all have babies growing! 5. Green pearl echeveria got a repot as well. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #SucculentLove #Succulents #Graptopetalum #Anthurium #Andromischus #SucculentSquad #Succulent #repotting #NewPlants

Does everyone else see what I’m seeing?! What am I doing that’s causing this?? All of these succulents are naked from the neck down!!!! Why?!?! Is it watering or light or a combination of the two? It’s weird because would you say some looked stretched?? Kind of?? They are in my sunroom where 3 of the 4 walls are south and south west facing windows with no curtains or shades of any kind. They are also under grow lights that are on 24/7. I live in NEPA and even in the middle of summer in my sunroom I don’t get enough light to stress them to color. The grow lights fix the issue but only if they’re on all the time. As you can obviously see in the pics, they need to be watered and im just getting ready to do so. I bottom water with all of these guys. I feel I should also mention that my sunroom has 2 small humidifiers that run basically 24/7 as well. The high temp in my sunroom today was 74.8 and the low was 71.6. The humidity was at a high of 80% and a low of 78%. Could that be the issue?? High humidity levels?? I’m def doing something wrong….anyone wanna bite? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #SucculentLove #PlantTherapy #GrowLights #PetsAndPlants #PlantCorner #SucculentSquad #Succulents #GregGang #GreggersSupportingGreggers #Greggers #Echeveria #pachyphytumstarburst #Pachyphytum
