Finding light for African Spear in your home
a window
African Spear can tolerate being far from a window and light source.
Place it less than 6 feet from a south-facing window to ensure it receives enough light to survive 💪.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of African Spear in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize African Spear
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your African Spear after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

#thewateringhole #brunchataudreys Good morning greggers, it's been a slog and winter continues to want me dead. Much like my plants, I miss the sun terribly. Unlike my plants, I'm still expected to perform at summer capacity when my brain and body want to hibernate. Aaaanyway, speaking of sun, I was admiring my snake plant and thinking about how I found it 2 years ago. Miraculously, I remembered to get a picture of it (I am The Worst about 'before' pics) and it made me smile. She's almost unrecognizable, and given my track record with *healthy* plants very impressive. I don't know how this stuff works so that's it i guess 🙂

Yellowing Leaves? This is a newer friend, brought home a few weeks ago and had some transplant yellowing; still in its nursery pot, seemingly new soil and getting some yellow leaves. It’s in a room with constant ambient light, gets direct sun on the pot maybe an hour a day but never on the actual leaves. Only watered once (with fertilizer, wondering if that’s an issue?) since it’s been home; any tips on stopping the yellowing? #Dracaena
