About Aloe 'Oik'
Many people are familiar with Aloe vera, but this genus of plants contains tons of other beautiful succulent plants that come in all sorts of colors! Their succulent leaves evolved to store water in dry climates, which makes them a perfect fit if you're a busy plant parent. With great care (and a lot of sunlight) you may even see your Aloe bloom! Their flowers grow out of a large spike and can be shades of red, orange, and yellow. 🔥

How to fertilize Aloe 'Oik'

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Aloe 'Oik' after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Wooo! (I totally forgot about freshleaf friday ^^') Anyway- My succs are much happier with me. Still killing off leaves, but also growing new ones and new roots. And Magpie's new leaf is looking glorious so far! Should I be concerned with the direction and how close it's growing to the other leaf? I even potted my goldfish plant after accidentally letting algae grow in the water I was using to help it grow roots 😅 I don't check for one day and suddenly algae is everywhere I look. I'm letting the tradescantia cutting callous before trying again for roots •~• I've had no luck so far with the method of not letting it callous over before sticking in water. Keep in mind I don't have the budget to buy plant products (or anything really) at the moment I also finally got a piece of my dead jellybean to grow roots ^v^ I potted it cuz that also grew algae in the water. My chunky boi Flareblitz just keeps popping out new growth and is feeling nice and firm. #freshleaffriday #succulentsquad #thaiconstellation #thaiconstellationmonstera #monstera #newgrowth #sedum #jellybeanplant #plantsmakepeoplehappy #goldfishplant #tradescantia #aloe

Is something up with my aloe? I've had Inertia for almost 3 years and she's always been very healthy, but today I noticed her stem looked a bit brown and unstable (needs some support to stand). The rest of her looks quite healthy overall, and she's looked like this before and been fine, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. #questions #Succulent #PinkBlushAloe #Aloe

He's looking so much happier now that he's out of the direct sunlight ^^ He was all yellow. His greens are coming back now. I wish I had space to bring the other succs in, too, but I sadly don't have enough trays or growlight space. They look pretty sad rn 😔 all sunburned. The damaged stem on one half of my golden sedum is also only rotting more, what do I do? Can I chop it and replant? #succulentsquad #succulents #aloe #sedum

Venom, my Sidewinder Aloe, has grown substantially since being repotted & moved outside!! I love the patterning on his leaves-- reminiscent of a snake's scales. 🐍 #sidewinderaloe #aloe #succulents #happyplants #newgrowth #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #succulentsquad #succulentlove #jesssjungle #planttherapy #outdoorgrowing

Succulent pot #Aloe I am new to succulents and my poor aloes were so leggy and I kept breaking their leaves so I repotted the main plants from two pots (wow aloe has shallow roots or I am doing it wrong?!) and a pup from a blizzard aloe and two random Home Depot dudes I liked## do you think this set up will work? I did cactus soil and perlite and topped with rocks and have under a light because it’s raining today…. I don’t know it’s my first try

How do I get my aloe Vera to grow more vertically? I love my aloe Vera plant, but am low on space. Is there a way to get her to grow straighter upwards and not lean outwards so much? #AloeVera #Aloe #Succulents

My mother in law dropped off this aloe in need of a rescue! The soil it came in was heavy, compacted, and absolutely sopping wet. She said it’s been wet like this for months. Big yikes! The leaves were pretty mushy. So mushy in fact that they started falling off by themselves as I was repotting the poor thing. Upon closer inspection when I took it out of the pot it has no roots. Pretty much just fell out of the pot on its own! I repotted with succulent and cactus mix. I also put root powder in the soil and on the aloe itself. So hopefully that’ll help out. I really hope it pulls through. It’s not looking good for now. #AloeVera #Aloe #aloeplant #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #SucculentLove #PlantTherapy #RootRot #ThanksForPhotosynthesis

How do I fix my Aloe Vera?!? It's droopy and turning a brown-ish color on the tops of the leaves, and I don't know how to fix it. I've tried moving her out of my windows, and I think it helped, but I'm not sure. #aloevera #aloe

#WhatTheSuccWednesday When I moved out of my mom’s I left a couple indoor succulents with her, with the intent to eventually move them with me.. but my mom ended up getting attached to them, and she had managed to keep them alive and they all have grown so much since I moved out, some of these I’ve had for 3+ years! I decided I couldn’t take them from her now.. so here are OUR succulents that are doing great! My mom doesn’t typically grow or buy succulents, so I wasn’t sure if she would be able to keep these alive (she tends to over water, as well) but they are all doing great! 1. Fire cracker aloe 2.
