Why is my plant so droopy? Hello everyone, me again! I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to help my Parlour Palm. It has been so healthy, but now it’s drooping so far it’s hitting the shelf. I put a rubber band around it so there wasn’t so much pressure on the stalks, but it’s still not happy. I’ve also noticed that the leaves are dry & fragile, not sure if that helps? If you have any questions feel free to ask. And any suggestions or tips will be greatly appreciated! Thank you! 😄🪴

Help! New plant but already seems to be dying. A week ago we thought we over watered it because leaves were getting brown and a few were feeling dried out. We stopped watering for a week and now almost all the leaves dried out and many are turning brown. If I put my finger an inch into the soil it does feel slightly damp. What are we doing wrong?!? Thanks in advance.

Pot Recommendations? Hey friends! It’s been a while and I feel like I’m finally getting the hang of this little guy. I noticed that when I water him, the water immediately drains out of the pot. Is this normal for this plant? Also, I have him in a 5” plastic pot which I know isn’t the best choice, but should I repot immediately or wait until spring? #ParlourPalm

Will my palm be ok? This is my mom’s palm. She moved it here to Florida from Ohio. It’s sitting in a foyer area by the front door which faces south and has a frosted glass window. Not sure what to do to make her better? #ParlourPalm

These plants can grow to be massive plants and all the leaves on these look so well all together. I found that these plants can brown quite easily but with high humidity, filtered water and no direct sunlight they will love it

make sure you keep your parlour palms humid and well-watered! they can dry out easily and perish. mine is doing fine but i have to keep a constant eye on her.

This app states that this plant is toxic to pets and should contact poison control if ingested. This is wrong and the ASPCA lists:

Have been struggling to keep this one happy since I acquired it. Didn’t start off well as I know I didn’t give it as much water as it needed and my cats had a field day chewing the leaves. Top leaves browned easily. Could be a case of not sitting in the right location.

This plant currently lives in my bathroom, on a window sill with no direct light. It seems to cope well with my sporadic watering (when I remember too!). No issues with browning leaves as per other comments I’ve seen. Survives well in this environment when other plants really haven’t!

My parlour palm was one of my first ever plants!! It is very tolerant of light as I have experimented a lot with it, it grows very fast, and it is fairly sturdy. The only down side is that with any direct light, the leaves will burn. The leaves brown very easily and will also show the chlorination of the water in its leaves. They’re also very prone to pests so spraying frequently with been oil and checking the leaves is a must.

I have had this Parlour Palm since March/ April. It’s positioned in a room with a south facing window, a meter away from the window. I repotted it since purchasing. I know Parlour Palms are hardy as I work at a place where they have not been well cared for. What I do know they do not like direct sunlight. The leaves brown when exposed to direct sunlight.
