How to fertilize Yellow Pitcher Plant
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Yellow Pitcher Plant after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

What’s My Name? #helpmenamemyplant #cpclubthursday CP CLUB THURSDAY for December 12, 2024 (Part 2!) “Because if it’s Thursday, it’s Carnivorous Plants Club…mostly! “ Welcome to #cpclubthursday 🌟NOW OVER 235 MEMBERS !🌟 FOCUS: Sarracenia Flowers forming And my new yellow Sarracenia needs a name! #HelpMeNameMyPlant I realize this is belated for a Thursday however I only just saw these Sarracenia including some with flowers at a local Gardening Center so here’s some photos. I also took some videos of some flies getting drunk on the dew under the lids but they take a while to get drunk and fall in. So I bought the yellow one that was the largest as I couldn’t get away from the color and it was attracting all the insects. But it didn’t have any flowers (you can’t win them all). It must have been attractive as the next thing was the salesperson went straight out and grabbed a smaller one of the same color ! I said that I should have received a commission for getting the sale! Anyway I would love some name suggestions #HelpMeNameMyPlant as I try to find a suitable name for this latest sarracenia. I’m hoping it catching lots of flies over summer. Remember to add #cpclubthursday to alert members to any posts or questions) I have also added many previous posts about the conditions and care of various CPs in previous #cpclubthursday so I recommend people follow the hashtag, many of them also have my group #seymour so may be easier to find them there. Add any interesting Carnivorous Plant (CP) facts, photos, or anything CP-related for this week. Or ask a question of our members related to CPs Join the CP just by clicking the link #cpclubthursday and clicking join. That is all it takes! Too easy! Shall we make it to more then 230 members? There is already a wealth of CP info so why not just join our growing CP community at #cpclubthursday? Happy Chompys 😊🪰🦟🚫 #cpclubthursday #carnivorousplants #carnivorousclub #venusflytrap #sarracenia #pinguicula #nepenthes #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #happyplants #greggang #seymour #theamigos #Pinguicula #butterwort #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #GrowLights #Sundew #ForkedSundew #heliamphora #SpoonLeavedSundew #Drosera #CapeSundew #dormancy #HelpMeNameMyPlant

Why does this greg app contradict itself a bunch. My yellow pitcher plant says loves direct sunlight will do best, then it also says it prefers indirect sunlight. So which one do I listen to? Or does this app even know what it’s talking about?? #YellowPitcherPlant

In total there’s uhh….. a lot? of individual rhizomes 😅 like 6-10 of each split between the 2 tanks and I think I ended up with 6 or 7 different pitcher types 🤔 😍 ahhhhhhhhhhhhh yay!!

There’s no such thing as overwatering when it comes to pitcher plants. They’re so fun to take care of, and when you learn of their growth cycle and how to prep for it, they’re easy to keep alive. Even if it looks like the plant is totally dead, clear off the brown pitchers, repot that hunk of root base, and add water. In the spring they will shoot back up.
