Sarracenia crown turning grey and has white growths Hi everyone! Iāve just returned from holiday to find that my Sarracenia leucophyllaās crown has started turning grey and a white fuzzy growth has appeared. Bubbles have also formed around the base of the pot. The plant has two crowns, the larger is the one which is affected, the smaller looks healthy and is throwing up new growth. I assume this is something to be concerned about so what do I do? #Sarracenia #sarracenialeucophylla #CarnivorousPlants #PestControl

Rotting pitchers in Sarracenia maroon? Hi everyone! I purchased an S. maroon from a garden centre last Wednesday, it wasnāt in the greatest condition but there was new growth coming and it was the healthiest of what was available. I gave it the same treatment as the rest of my sarracenia (left in a tray of distilled water) but also quarantined it in the bathroom incase it was diseased. A week later and the new growth has rotted from the base up. Whilst the rest of the pitchers has gone brown and crispy at the garden centre, the new growth had gone soft and dark brown at the base. Is this rot and is this salvageable? Iāve never had this happen to a carnivore before. (Attached image is today, I forgot to take a picture before removing the rotted pitchers. The thumbnail for the tagged plant is from the day I bought it). #Sarracenia #RootRot #CarnivorousPlants #CarnivorousClub

Two-faced Sarrecenia Does anyone know why my #sarracenia is more red on the window side and more white on the shaded side? Also if anyone knows the biology behind this that would be really interesting!

This plant was damaged when I received it a couple of months ago, and I honestly had doubts that it would survive. I just love the colors and the pattern on the hoodāwhat a great way to finish up the growing season!!! š #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #GregGang #cpclubthursday #CPbandWagon #CarnivorousPlants #CarnivorousClub #Sarracenia #PitcherPlant #LaSiguanaba

Iām so grateful for @Seymour (beatified this day as St. Seymour, patron saint of carnivorous plants and memes. āSt. Seymour, pray for our traps, now and at the hour of their digestion. Amen.ā) for creating the #cpclubthursday š . I can share my two (so far) CP babies. The first is Urnest, my white-topped pitcher. Heās in my whiskey barrel (plastic) bog outside and is just now emergency from sleep. And Oliver, my VFT that I rescued from the ally of a big box and considered him at home in my grow tent as he recovers and gains his strength.
