How to fertilize saffron crocus
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your saffron crocus after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Kitchen Gardens Do any of you have a kitchen garden? I would love to see pics, and see how you’re tackling things. When the summer outdoor garden comes to an end, I’m always a little sad. Nothing beats homegrown food! I have decided to plant some fresh veggies, seasonings and herbs in my kitchen. I cleared off a shelf on a side table to make room for it. I found these rectangle planters for a steal on Amazon and found some saffron bulbs through #HirtsGarden I planted them because I heard they don’t store well, yet I didn’t expect them to bloom because I got them so late! Once they run their course, I will store them. I am planting my herbs today. I have my spinach and lettuce popping up. Things are looking great! #itrunsinthefamily #KitchenGarden #Spinach #CrimsonRomaine #OakleafLettuce #KitchenHerbGarden #Blooming #SaffronCrocus #Lettuce

First time for me caring for spring corcus. The weather here is turning cold. Should I bring my corcus indoors or does it withstand the cold. Thoughts please🙏 #SpringCrocus

New sprouts coming in! My little #SaffronCrocus plants have apparently survived the winter (and being dug up by my cats 🙄) and are starting to sprout! I’m so excited 🥳! #EdiblePlants #HappyPlants #MaybeItWillLive

#FreshLeafFriday post for the week! My #FalseChristmasCactus is still blooming (I can’t take credit—it was already blooming when I got it 😉), and my #SaffronCrocus are putting out tiny little shoots! The mini rose has new leaves as well, in spite of the cold! The #silverglorystringofhearts and #AlocasiaNinja each have new leaves too!

So I did a thing this week 😂 You know all those special holiday recipes? The ones that require saffron? Well, I don’t cook much, but I had my sister over last weekend, so I made one for her as a special holiday celebration. You guys, I about keeled over when I saw the price on the saffron! So I thought to myself “You know, saffron is a flower stigma. Flowers are plants. And I’m a reasonably capable grower. Is there a reason on this earth why I can’t just grow saffron?” I now have 10 corms. Wish me luck. #PlantAddict #EdiblePlants #SaffronCrocus #IWishYouSense
