Upsizing propagation vessel

Help! When should I upsize the plant without having the break the one it’s in, I don’t want it to get full of roots to the point where I can’t pull it out. #PropagationStation #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #help #GregGang
2ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
I would go to Dollar Tree for a vase. They have ones with narrow curved openings so it’s easy for the plant to rest comfortably and also easy to get them out without hurting them.
Hi Hayley! I think you answered your own questionβ€” time to find a new vessel πŸ˜› I'd also be concerned about it falling over because the cutting is too top heavy.

You can use any size jar for water propagating, as long as it's deep enough to keep the roots covered and the opening isn't so wide that leaves become submerged (I like to reuse glass jars from jam, pasta sauce, etc). Also, since the roots get all their oxygen from the water, it's important to change it out and wash the jar at least 1x/week.
@MissAnn @stephonicle thank you both for the advice!
