monstera root rot

so i just checked the roots of my monstera since 2 leaves turned yellow and i cut them off. it is my first monstera and i saw the roots were brown so i cut everything rotten off and washed the roots. they are now in jars with water but I have 2 things that I’m worried about. 1. these weird white coloured spots and 2. this hole. #PropagationStation #Monstera #RootRot #monsteradeliciosa #help #GregGang
The weird hole looks like it is from the root rot and the white is from water sitting on the leaves
@Plants_Galore what can I do against that hole? or is the whole leave going to die
@GrandeeChichipe the hole will be there forever on that leaf but you can stop it from getting bigger by cutting back on how often you water it
I think you need to take a closer look at that and make sure you don’t have thrips. That funny looking underside is very β€œthrips-ish” it’s laying eggs in between the leaf and causing damage. All those little white speckles in the first pic have me nervous as well. Lastly, the brown hole where they ate their way out of your leaf. My recommendation would be to start a treatment program asap. (Neem, horticultural oil, etc) I could be totally wrong because I’m only looking at pictures but it’s worth a mention because that will wipe your plant out. Good luck!
@GrandeeChichipe Did you do a diluted hydrogen peroxide soak? Here is how: β€œMix one part 3% percent hydrogen peroxide with two parts water and carefully pour it over the root of your plant system with a watering can or spray bottle.” I actually soak the roots for 10 minutes. Good luck, and happy growing.

This will kill off the bacteria which cause root rot.
