@Succulent_Soul yes, you should probably take off the dead branches. How much water and sun it it getting every week/day? It's probably a mixed up schedule.
In my opinion, it’s because these plants just aren’t meant to live in our homes. They need really high humidity, damp but not wet soil, and heat and sun. That’s not how our homes are indoors. Plus, they’re spider mite magnets. They don’t come home with me anymore!
