Misting - yay or nay?

My asparagus Fern has always seemed a little sparse and leggy. I assumed repotting it this year would help but it doesn't seem to.

My only guess is that it needs more humidity/I should be misting it? I've seen a lot of mixed things about doing it so I haven't tried. The only other idea I had was to cut it back and let it come again.

Let me know your experience with your ferns, please! I feel like it's thriving instead of surviving.

Mine is in my laundry room (humidity? check). When it gets spindly, I pull out the scissors. When I cut mine back, new shoots came from another area and it makes the plant look bushier.

It's late, but tomorrow, I'll show you a picture. I have trimmed mine a few times. (:
Depends. Nay for humidity because plants need consistent misting/spraying; it might help to put this plant under a cloche, in a cabinet, or have a plastic bag overnight. Yay for keeping an eye on plants and observing general health and any pests!
@jcPlantProper I thought I was the only one that does not like ferns! Mostly because they donโ€™t like me.
I have a different variety, but I find even in my cabinet with daily misting the bottom leaves still brown easilyโ€ฆ maybe try humidity and see what happens? I definitely agree with @sarahsalith about the cutting back. ๐Ÿ˜Š
@PlantMompy I have read they like to be misted but itโ€™s totally up to you. Maybe misting every other day. I donโ€™t have a fern but I know they love humidity.
Agreed with @KikiGoldblatt I have 3 ferns and I mist them a couple times a week. They are moody but if you can get the moisture right, they're worth it. I also alternate bottom and top watering since the soil likes to be moist and so much indirect light. I have mine in my room with a huge sliding glass door to outside and 2 skylights to give you an idea of how much light.

You can do it! ๐Ÿ˜Š
@jcPlantProper @TJphilobsessed I'm not a fan of ferns either, tried with two and they're now a "never again plant". Janai is correct it's difficult to mimic lighting and moisture requirements indoors.
Thanks everyone! I adopted this plant 5 years ago when my friends moved to Cali so I never really knew much about it. Again, it's always survived but never thrived. Now I'm brave enough to mess with it I'll try some misting and pruning!

My stag and birds nest are doing well... We will see how upset my Boston Fern gets when it moves inside ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm still unsure if ferns are for me

Oh! Here's mine. I just cut it when it starts to drop into the washing machine. ๐Ÿ˜‚
@sarahsalith perfect!
@tango what kind of fern do you have? I have found that putting them in violet pots or self watering pots really helps.
