Why is my Graptosedum Blue Pearl turning yellow/dropping ...
Ever since I got my blue pearl grapto. Hybrid, it had some yellow almost translucent-ish leaves that were almost deflated looking, and have fell off overtime. I didnβt water it when I got it, but when I finally did water it didnβt change anything, making it worse or better. After that I thought maybe it was root bound or needed some new dirt/nutrients. But it is still doing the yellowing and dropping thing. When I got the plant to the car from Home Depot, a single fungus knat flew out the nursery pot, and I was able to kill it. However itβs in new dirt, and has since then been treated with arber insecticide and fungicides. Can someone give some ideas suggestions?? #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #GregGang #GreggersSupportingGreggers #PlantTherapy fungusgnats">#fungusgnats #helpneeded #SucculentSquad #Succulents #SucculentLove #succulent #GrowingSuccs

Omg Iβve had the same problem with many of my succulents and I finally, after much research, think I found the answer. Itβs called Fusarium Wilt and is a fungal disease that starts in the soil and goes up through the roots. And unfortunately itβs incurable so I have to get rid of a lot of my babies this weekend. Iβm heartbroken. I hope yours is not suffering from this, but it looks just like mine and the symptoms are the same as you described π’ I think they were sick when I bought them because Iβve only had them a couple weeks and havenβt watered yet. Sounds like the same with yours. Maybe they will give you a replacement? Isolate from your others because Iβve read it spreads. I have more research to do but would be remiss if I didnβt warn about this. Itβs awful and it would suck if I didnβt say anything and your others got sick too π£
I donβt have one but I did look at a couple of articles on Graptosedum plants. I know youβre pretty on top of things with your plants so I figure youβve got things like light and watering under control. One issue raised in the articles was that they donβt like humidity. Do you have it in a dry environment?
@RefinedSandwort I do have it in a dry environment as far as Iβm aware. Itβs kept inside in a sunny south facing window, and here lately since itβs warmed up, I will stick it outside for a couple hours a day.
I may seem like I know my stuff, I do know a fair amount of succulent care information, but I still can struggle with simple things like lighting and water. especially when it comes to a new plant and finding out what it needs and likes, Before I find its perfect balance! @TidyTigerpear I find the location and lighting, while probably the most important components of plant care, are the hardest for me to get just right. Iβve done quite a bit of shuffling my succulents around trying to find that sweet spot for each one.
@RefinedSandwort yes same for me ! Thatβs the fun part of plants is getting to know each one personally and what works for them. It teaches us more about different varieties and different variables that are better for some plants and not for others. The trick is getting it right before itβs too far gone π€£π€£ and then it becomes a rescue project lol! But those are always he most satisfying when you finally get it right!
@BabeVila yes I knew it was some sort of fungal disease but I wasnβt sure what and honestly I thought it was something I could get rid of because Iβve had some that Iβve done it before and somehow managed to repair themselves. Iβm probably gonna chop and prop them because one is already growing new roots above the soil and hopefully maybe that will fix it. Iβve changed the dirt they were in also, but that doesnβt change the fact itβs already spread itself into the plant. And yes Home Depot does have an issue with sick plants. I try to find the healthiest looking ones but even then you just never know because it can be something on the inside going on with the plant, that isnβt noticeable on the outside. Thank you for your answer though. It was very helpful.
@TidyTigerpear of course! Iβm trying to prop some of my sick ones, too, hopefully it didnβt make its way into the top leaves. Iβm not sure if it slowly spreads upwards or immediately the entire plant is contaminated. I took leaves from the top that looked healthy and they are rooting so π€π»
@TidyTigerpear these are the ones Iβve identified as infected so far. Iβm going to dump the soil, sanitize the pots, put them back in the nursery pots and return them for store credit. Iβm glad I saved the nursery pots. It suuuucks too because one is an Echeveria Dark Moon π oh well. Iβm gonna try some of the online stores you recommended a few weeks back! Good luck with your babies πππ
@BabeVila I reccomend planet desert if you decide to order online, the quality is super high as far as the plants health, colors, and packing they ensure that dirty isnβt all over the place when you received the package, they have really good packing techniques. They are the best Iβve ordered from so far, and after that itβs hard to compete with them even after trying other shops. The plants are a bit more pricy but they are far bigger and more established and super healthy. To me itβs totally worth it !
Iβm sorry that your plants will have to go back to the store. They look mostly really healthy ? Have any of them shown signs or are you just getting rid to be sure ? I would be sad about the fake moon and black and green sedum π« maybe the other arenβt affected yet ? I do see the one in the front left that is showing the translucent leaves. Maybe you could keep the other two in quarantine for now.

Oh no they are showing signs. The leaves are getting that spoon shape and turning yellow and translucent and getting that almost mushy but not quite feel. I just took all the sick leaves off before figuring out what was wrong. Or they fell off in the case of the jet beads and blue pearl π They are all afflicted for sure. Thank you, I will definitely try Plant Desert! Itβs worth it to get healthy ones!
