New Peace Lily Owner here!!

I believe this is my first peace lily I’ve ever owned! I thought the self watering pot was really neatβ€”but I wanted to ask and make sure that that’s a proper or safe way to water one, and if soβ€”how often do I add water? Each time it runs dry? Any tips on how to care for it, water it, how much sun eTC would help a lot, thank you! <3 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #NewPlantMom #PeaceLily

i don’t know much about peace lilies, but i’ve heard they do not bring as much peace as the name suggests. despite this, i hope your peace lily brings you great peace and happiness!! best of luck!
I have the same self watering pot for mine and it has been perfect! Be mindful they enjoy water more than the rest of my indoor plants, but the self watering actually helps a lot with this!
@newplantgirlies I tried doing some research on them and have seen some similar statements from a couple others! Haha <3 and thank you so much, I hope so too!
@YoungKanono75 that’s great to know, thank you so muchhh! <3
@pinkmilk you have beautiful orchids by the way!!^^
@newplantgirlies Ahhh, thank you so muchhh! Orchids are such a pretty flower <3
@pinkmilk of course!! i love orchids, i really want to get into keeping them some time soon
@pinkmilk a couple other things I’ve learned that might be helpful, as soon as a bloomed flower goes brown, cut it at the base. Mine had about 6 flowers bloom within a week of bringing it home and felt so proud of myself because all I find are negative stories about them and felt determined to succeed πŸ˜… and then they all turned brown and I thought I killed it! Found out it’s totally normal! Also, not sure if it’s normal for all, or mine is just dramatic, but on super sunny days it will shift and the leaves will reach for the window, the end of the day when it gets dark, it returns to normal. One time before I realized how much they need to be watered, compared to others, I found it completely drooping and added water and within 10 minutes it perked back up. Definitely my most outspoken indoor plant!
@newplantgirlies They’re lovely plants! I totally recommend them <3
@YoungKanono75 I greatly appreciate all of the information, thank you so muchh!! Through my research, I found a couple or so talking about how dramatic they can be!
They need a lot of water, they start drooping that's when you water and it's only within 3-4 days don't water it a lot though
@HeirNeem71 great to know, thank you so much! <3
I haven’t tried a self watering pot, but always bottom water mine so that seems like a great way to do it.
@SerendipitySal Great to knoww, thank you so much! <3

Hi Taylor!

I always use plastic pots for my Peace Lily and never let her go into shock 😲 by not watering until her leaves droop.
In other words, I always maintain the proper moisture.

Between picking her up to feel her weight, to using a moisture meter, to checking water recommendations on our Greg app, Lily has always rewarded me with her beauty and awesome growth.

Every home environment is different. Lily prefers indirect light in my apartment ✨️ πŸ’–.

She loves being quite close to other plants πŸͺ΄ and enjoys the humidifier.

Have fun with your Lily!
@CutePolypremum Thank you so much for the tips and info! <3
