Should I cut this leaf off?
I accidentally damaged with leaf with heat. I took a picture of top and bottom. The leaf itself is sturdy but Iβm wondering if itβll be best to cut the leaf off. #PlantAddict #help #GregGang #NewGrowth #RarePlants

The burnt part won't spread. It's up to you whether you cut it off or not.
Alocasia is really forgiving and even if there are no leaves left, they will grow back. But, it doesn't hurt it to leave it on either.
I do find that with all of mine if I trim a leaf off, it sprouts a new one faster. Because it redirects the energy into new leaf growth. So I never really hesitate to lose one if it starts to look bad.

@SuperbRaspfern thatβs what I was thinking too. Would you cut it back to the base or only cut the leaf?
I prefer my plants to look pretty, so I typically cut damaged leaves since they wonβt heal. If itβs small damage, I will just trim it to help it blend in. I will leave a yellow leaf if there is just one or two because the plant may be using it for nutrients, but I definitely take it off when a gentle tug causes it to release. Make sure your cutting tools are sterile to avoid further damage if you can π₯°
@teacher12 thank you!
@SuperbRaspfern I ended up doing this. I was worried about it not sprouting, but I noticed once I cut it back that thereβs is a bit of new growth coming. Hopefully sheβll have a new leaf in the next couple weeks. οΏΌ
@ProudRanunculus Oh that's wonderful news!
