New to peyotes

#Peyote
Hey guys, I got a peyote yesterday, any advice?
Welcome to Greg! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

I don’t know anything about peyote, unfortunately, but I am sure someone will come around to answer. 😊

To increase the chances of someone seeing your post it’s important to add several popular hashtags. Here’s how!

Give them lots of light but watch it to make sure it’s not going to burn at first. And only water when they feel squishy to the touch. If they feel hard and firm when you squeeze them then do not water. Only water once they become noticeably more squishy. Otherwise they will rot. Or even split open. They can go weeks inside without water but flower much better outside if sunny and hotter weather. They are native to northern Mexico and Texas so you have to simulate that environment. Make sure the soil is rocky and has limestone in it preferably since that’s the soil the like. That’s all they grow in in limestone based soil.
Do you know exactly what type it is? There’s a few varieties. Do you have more pictures of it? The pic is a little blurry in your oasis. I can’t tell for sure exactly what it is.
Be very very careful with over watering. Most people kill them because of root rot due to overwatering.
