Best potting soil or mix for Schefflera?
My #Schefflera doesnβt like the potting soil itβs in. It was getting root bound because it sank in the old soil I put it in last spring, so I took it out two weeks ago, sterilized the pot, and used a mixture of perlite, indoor potting soil, some granular system insecticide (Bromide), and roughly 1/3 cactus/fast draining mix (the Miracle Gro orange bagβ¦canβt recall exact name). I also drilled a bunch more holes in the bottom of the planter. Itβs in a west facing window (WSW exactly) and gets late afternoon indirect sunlight. I went to check the soil the other day because the leaves were still droopy and Greg told me it was time to water. But the soil was still moist and this plant likes to dry out. I aerated it but want to get it into a better soil. I picked up some Happy Frog potting soil for indoor/outdoor plants with Mycorrhizae and Humic Acid and more perlite. I have a little but left of the fast draining mix but itβs old and has been in the basement. Iβm debating sterilizing the Happy Frog due to a fungus gnat nightmare a few years ago but it would kill the good bacteria. Any tips or recommendations?? Thanks in advance!

Wow! I think you covered everything! I think what you can do now is allow your plant to rest. It's a beautiful plant.
I just have a chunky soil mix that I threw together myself for my shuffle era. Perlite, orchid bark, and organic potting soilοΏΌ. Sounds like you went all out for your plant! I hope you can post a picture of it thriving soon. I know your plants are in good hands. οΏΌοΏΌ
