1ft to light, direct
8β pot with drainage
Last watered 3 weeks ago
Hi Arlea! What a beauty!!! I too got my first Ficus Ginseng about 2 months ago. First Bonsai for me, so I looked up care and Iβll paste here what I was told. βLight: Place it directly in front of a bright window where it can receive a few hours of direct daily sunlight. Lack of light will cause thin, spindly growth and leaf drop. Watering: Wait until the top 1 to 2 inches of soil feel completely dry before watering deeply. Pour water slowly until it flows out of the bottom drainage holes, then discard any standing water in the tray after 15 minutes to prevent root rot. Temperature: Maintain stable temperatures between 60Β°F and 75Β°F (15Β°Cβ24Β°C). Keep the plant clear of freezing windows, heaters, and drafty air conditioning vents. Humidity: These tropical trees thrive with higher humidity levels. Boost moisture by sitting the pot on a water-filled pebble tray. Pruning: Trim back new shoots to 2 or 3 leaves once they grow out to 6 leaves. This controls the canopy's shape and encourages thicker branching closer to the trunk.
