She has a some of yellow leafs and I don’t know why. I have been neglecting her a bit and she got a spot but otherwise I have not done anything different. Can someone help me out? #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #Philodendron #WhiteWizardPhilodendron #GregGang #Greggers
5” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
Hello! It looks like your pot does not have proper drainage. It looks like it was in too soggy of soil... Looks like its suffering from root rot.. You can try to fix it by reporting it in a pot with good drainage. Fresh soil and look at the roots, if any are mushy trim them off. And trim off the dead or dying leaves. Plant into the new soil and water, but not as much... Hope this all makes sense!! And hope it helps!! 🪴🌵🏜🐞
I agree with Carmen, sadly it looks to be a root rot issue
@EcoPlantLover if that is a self-watering pot, I wouldn’t use it! They allow too much water into the soil. I would never use one. Good Luck!🪴
The pot does have drainage but it sits in another pot. Could that be an issue?
I took it out of its pot and the roots look pretty good to me. Could it still be root rot or is it something else?
The roots also look like they have fla bit of fur on them. Is that normal?
I get yellow leaves when I let it go too long without water and then I soak it, it’s almost like shock.
@Thrivingish ok thank you. Do you think it is root rot judging by the photos?
The roots look ok. Are they squishy? If so it’s rot. Also, the soil looks dry. The reason may be under watering. If the soil has become hydrophobic it will not absorb water and it will just run out of the bottom. If that’s the case I would recommend putting it in a tray of water and hopefully the soil will become hydrated. Also, as others mentioned you might want to consider removing the existing soil and use a mix of potting soil or coir, orchid bark and perlite.
@EcoPlantLover no I think it’s just inconsistent watering
