Wtf

This happened over night. Idk what's up. It's dried out now but all the dead and dried parts of the plant were literally jet black like they were spray painted. It's only sections on top the rest is OK. I was out here last night and it's wasn't like this #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #plantmafia #plantsmademedoit #plantshelfie #plantshelfie #purpleheart #tradescantiazebrina
16” pot with drainage
Last watered 3 years ago
Wow that’s a massive one the biggest one I seen I would cutt all the brown leaves leave the healthy ones they grow pretty fast
U can always prop some cuttings
Did you have a cold night? ðŸ˜Ē
@HoyaAddict yea the nights have been going back and forth between normal and chilly but nothing extreme. Everything else is OK and these are the hardest plants to kill that I have lol
@KrunchyWrap They’re pretty awesome 👏 they do grow back so fast! Ultra resilient! It’s just odd it happened overnight ðŸ˜Ŧ
@HoyaAddict I know it makes absolutely not sense at all and I had two other trailing plants next to it that are perfectly fine and you can look at those two funny and they start throwing a damn tantrum.
@Indoorgreens this was a month or so ago. I have to trim it back 1 a month sometimes 2 times.
@KrunchyWrap wow those are beautiful 😍 maybe the weather just like everyone says I have one indoors it’s doing pretty good so far but I’m sure I’ll have some browning they tend to brown lots
I had no idea those could get so giant! We just brought a baby 1 home today. As for your plantâ€Ķthe only time I see color changes like that is from the cold at night. Hmmmm ðŸĪ”
I think the cold got it.ðŸĨķ
@KrunchyWrap Gorgeous!!!
Hmm I'm wondering if it didn't get an extra "watering" from an animal ðŸĪ”ðŸŦĢ
@Sassylimey well I haven't smelled asparagus in while do didn't think it to be him.... hmmmm... maybe it was... UGGGHHHHAAAAGGGHHHH
That is so big and pretty. I am sorry it isn’t doing so well. I hope you can save some. I had to bring my 4 inside now too. Before they freeze out.
I had the same problem with my zebrina! Doing great for months and then I go to water it last week and it decided it didn't need half it's leaves anymore. Through my research it actually seemed to be a sign of underwatering, which was not my first guess because a lot of the leaves weren't just black and crispy but weakening and yellowing first, which I thought would have been from overwatering. Maybe the cooler nights have just given it a little wind burn? And it's probably not as humid as it used to be outside. Maybe try adjusting the watering schedule?
@KrunchyWrap I agree with @HoyaAddict ðŸ’Ŋ
@unbiased yea I guess the nights have gotten to it especially since they have been so bipolar. It jsr sucks I can't move it. It's 4ft long and 2 ft tall and HEAVY AS A MF lol
Hate to lose it but idk what else to do for it bc winter is going to suck eggs
@KrunchyWrap you might just have to throw a sheet on it at night. We used to do that with some of our in ground plants when we were expecting a frost. Just get a crappy bed sheet and toss it over. Should do enough if the culprit truly is wind burn and/or cold.
