Whether your bromeliad comes back depends on how much damage there is. Can you post a photo? If it died from lack of water I think continuing to deny it water would just cause it to get worse.
Plants can really surprise us. Remove the damaged leaves because they won’t heal and will use energy the plant needs to grow new leaves. Water it appropriately and hope for the best! It could surprise you!
