Good morning wonderful plant friends. This is my beautiful Crêpe Myrtle. I planted it many years ago. A few years back it was damaged by several hurricanes and it looked like it was dying. Last year it appeared to be almost completely dead. As a result, I took a chainsaw and, sadly, cut it down. Now it’s coming back with a vengeance. I’m very happy. I guess all it needed was a good pruning. This is why I named it “Phoenix”. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #OutdoorGrowing #thewateringhole #crepemyrtle @BuffCaperspurge @CutePolypremum @DanDenMan @DreamMachine @FunBoglaurel81 @HFplantoasis @HummingbirdMint @Idplantthat @ILoveMyPlants @Jadedbelle @Jujube @Luckeecharm1 @ModestCoconut13 @Ms.Persnickety @newplantgirlies @Preciousplants1 @princesspitstop @QuickKalopanax @sarah10orio @Shells_Garden @SillyPlantGirl @SizableSuncup20 @smushface @SolaceInSunshine @RefinedSandwort @Ponytailmom @MusicalRedmint @MamaLinnei @KaylaG2010 @babevilla
@Malagueña Very Pretty!
@Malagueña Beautiful Crepe Myrtle and an absolute fitting name!
@SillyPlantGirl , that’s basically what I did. I cut it down to 6 inches off the ground. Everything above that was dead. To the point where the branches of just snap off.
@Malagueña
Phoenix...the perfect name!
You have such a lush environment that you've made on your land.
And...your photography has made me a believer.
I always held the pre-conceived idea that parts of Florida were just a swamp...only full of alligators. Yikes!
But, dear Bob, you have proven me wrong time after time.
Thank ❣️ 😊 🙏🏻 you!

@CutePolypremum , thank you Joanie. Behind my property is a 20,000 acre State Forest. There are the most awesome trees and plants growing there. The Withlacoochee River runs down the eastern side of it. Of course there are alligators in that river. That’s where most of the Cypress tree photographs, I post, are. It’s always an adventure that I look forward to and I love it. I moved to this part of Florida many years ago to get away from the crowds. Unfortunately, lately, I have not been able to go out there due to an injury. I am recovering and planning on going out there again soon. 👍✌️
@CutePolypremum , ♥️🙂↔️
@CutePolypremum , my parents are long past. However, years ago, during one of the times they visited me was when my mom looked around and said “wow you really have your own planet back here.” That’s true.
@Malagueña
20,000 acres!
You certainly chose the right spot.
I hope you'll be back to normal soon and share your adventures with us!

@CutePolypremum , I have literally spent thousands of hours in the green swamp wilderness preserve, and in the state Forest. I have plenty of photos to share.
@Malagueña I hope you heal fast and are able to get out and enjoy nature, and life, soon!
@SillyPlantGirl , thank you.
@Malagueña I also hope you heal up and are able to get back to the nature you love! Luckily you seem to have grown some nice nature around you too 😉
@DreamMachine , thank you, Nadia. 🫶
@debbiedo , thank you, Debbie. It’s like cutting it back has released it. It is growing like crazy much more blooms than in this photo. I have in fertilizing it and deep watering it. It’s really responding. 🪻🌸🌺♥️
