I literally do not know what this guy wants! It doesn’t matter what type of watering schedule, humidity, lighting… it all results in the ends turning brown & the big leaf just falls off.
How is it even remotely surviving right now? I ABANDONED it. I legit stopped looking at it.. until this evening & I was like DAMN.. it finally got some anti-depressants & looks a bit better 🤣

My current champion of my #dramaticplants is DEFINITELY my rattlesnake Calathea (everyone feels free to roll your eyes in a "Well, duh! Of course!" 👀🫣🤣). She's a baby but was looking really super healthy when I brought her home from plant swap!
Two days later she decided to protest her new home by suddenly (& I mean overnight!) yellowing her biggest, oldest leaf so I spanked her (chopped it off) and moved her to a slightly better spot (still in isolation of course). She must've been getting sore crazy or something because next she started sending ANOTHER leaf yellow and I noticed her soul was holding an AWFUL lot of moisture for a REALLY long time (though the mix looks chunky enough!) but I'm waiting for my soil ninja to arrive after the Mass Repotting of two weeks ago (I used up just about every bit of soil and additions I had on the house 😱🤦♀️) so she hasn't had a drink in two weeks until this morning... I did bring her back from Coventry last week though (I brought her out of isolation) and suddenly she perked up! For no damned reason I can see... Except she was obviously craving company! 🤦♀️🤣🤣
Omg what a pain the last three weeks has been! She's now down to just three leaves, but they all look good! Experts well say she's getting to much direct sun (2-3 hrs in the evening) but she seems to love it and is happy cuddling Sherlock the KPF (I tried to explain they won't make babies, but she seems to love him! 💚🥰).
So same for me Hun... It seems the less I did the happier she got, once she was back amongst friends anyway lmao 🤣🤣 who says plants aren't sentient?! I do sometimes wonder! 🤔😂💚🥰💚🥰 Xxx

I don’t have one of these plants, and reading about their temperament I’m not sure I want one! lol, but on the note of “spanking” aka pruning/chopping, I saw a YouTube video were a guy recommended these centurion clippers or what ever they are called, and I OBVIOUSLY needed them from Amazon, and now I go around the house just looking for anybody misbehaving! lol plants that is…. Of course it may work for chopping gum out of little girls hair or burrs from the cats fur too. 😄
