About a year ago, a stray cat got stuck in my pool area after falling through the birdcage mesh. It then proceeded to wreak havoc on my garden, trying to escape my dog

The cat was fortunately unharmed, but my young burro's tail, Mule, was broken and scattered all over the ground. I was devastated because I had just gotten him looking nice and lush, and now he was in pieces 😒; he looked such a mess I couldn't stand it 😭; it really felt like the end of the world right there. However, Mule was still my plant baby, so I couldn't just give up on him πŸ˜”.

So I salvaged what I could, repotted every last piece into a hanging basket, and prayed he'd pull through.

However, little did I know that burro’s tails are some of the few succulents that will propagate from anything; so three burro tails became several and counting, and the scattered mess is quickly becoming the picture-perfect hanging succulent I always dreamed of, and it's all thanks to that cat 🀭. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #SucculentLove #PetsAndPlants #PlantLove #HangingPlants #BurrosTail #SucculentSquad #Succulents

Oh my goodness I was scared to read the whole thing, but I’m so glad I did, and the cat was unharmed and now because of that your burro’s tail is looking FABULOUS πŸ’…πŸΌπŸ˜±πŸ€© What a great story!! Thanks for sharing πŸ₯°πŸ˜Š
Glad there was a good outcome for the cat and the plant! That burros tail is gorgeous!!
It will be so lush!!
I love this story. It reminds me a little bit of one from a very long time ago (1989) before I knew anything about plants. My mother had given me her Christmas cactus which I have mentioned here many times. It lived in a bay window in my condo. I got a new dog CassieοΏΌ who loved jumping up on the window seat and looking out. One day I came home and her tail wagging had broken countless pieces off the plant. At the time I read that you should propagate it in sand, so I bought some sand and put the pieces in the sand, having no idea when or how to check on the roots forming. After some time my cat tipped the cuttings pot all over the floor, where I found that the roots looked great, and I was able to pop them back up with their mom making the plant so much fuller than it was.
@Just1More what good helpers you have!! πŸ˜‚πŸ₯°

Although as I read β€˜sand’ and β€˜cat’ I thought πŸ’ uh oh 😬🀭 But, not to fear, it wasn’t that kind of story πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
Amazing - this is a great comeback story!
@Seedstarter Mule looks AMAZING Jasmine!

I wish my chaos kitten would help rather than harm my plants! She’s killed a few and damaged several more…
