Came back from a 3 week vacation a few days ago. Due to a situation I have going on, I was not able to buy any self watering things or have anyone water my plants (though there was someone inside the house). I'm devastated. All my plants survived, but a few of my absolute favorites are in terrible condition. My callisia... my pink syngonium. Living, but it will take them long to return to their old state... as foolish and stupidly sensitive as it may seem, I cried over it. They have grown with me, with my mistakes. I bought my pink syngonium after the death of one of my beloved birds, and I even named it after her. Everything else seems to be fine, it's just my favorites. I was also looking forward to taking cuttings of my pothos for an experiment, but it lost a few leaves, and I can't take cuttings from her without her looking a bit bald. It was an experiment I had been looking forward to my whole time in MI, I guess I have to wait again. Sigh. #plantaddict #newgrowth (hopefully.) #plantsmakepeoplehappy #planttherapy #syngonium #pothos #callisiapinkpanther #pinkpanthertradescantia #pothospack
I don't think it's overly sensitive or foolish and I completely empathize 😭 but you are AMAZING with plants and I know you will have them back and better than ever in no time! 💚❤️
@Lifeis2short You are, as always, too kind. 💙🫂 Thank you! All I hope for now is that they all grow fast-- my pothos most of all so I can get my experiment done. I'll make sure to post about it when I do!
The plants are ALIVE. They'll bounce back. You have a green thumb. Everything is gonna be all right. 💚❤️
@SvelteKingfern Thank you 💙 I'm really hoping it will be, especially as I'm in another difficult situation that semi involves them.
💙
I’ve cried over the same thing. Don’t think yourself foolish. These babies are like our children! For me it is absolutely like that. My heart is with you 🥰🧡🧡
I totally get that! It's not silly at all, I'd have been in floods of tears of that happened to me!!!

The good news is your Callisia will bounce back REALLY quickly 💚 the Syngo will take longer (I wish you stayed in the UK, is send you a prop from mine! She's only wee but she been growing like a weed recently and it's almost big enough to prop 🥰).

That really sucks that whoever was in your house wouldn't water them!! Even just a splash about during that the weeks might've made all the difference 😭

I'm so sorry honey, but don't fret too much! They're still alive, that's the main thing! and they absolutely WILL bounce back now you're home to look after them 🥰 I've had plants that were practically dead for all intents and purposes surprise me with growth after months of nothing! They're tougher than we think they are sweetie 💚 xxx
@JenniB81 It's my dad. He would actually rather kill them 😮‍💨

Yeah, I overpruned my callisia when I had gotten her, but after a few months she started trailing. This is what happened after. The syngonium is shooting out leaves, though, so that I am happy about. It was so lush when we left it. Thank you for your kind words! 💙
@LittleSongbird I know nothing can replace your Pink Syngonium, but I will happily send you a rooted portion of mine if you'd like. Just say the word and I'll have it in the mail by the end of the day
I am right there with you with the crying. I bought an aloe plant when my dad passed and I killed it in a few months. I cried big time. Your plants will bounce back.
@Lifeis2short Aw Marissa no!! You've done so much for me already, and yours is the most beautiful one I've ever seen! I don't want you to have to do that for me! 😭💙 Thank you for your kindness. I can't express how much all that you've done means to me. Thank you again.
Girl, consider it done! I'll get it out first thing Monday so it's not sitting in some warehouse over the long weekend!
@Lifeis2short 😭😭😭💙 Thank you.
🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 it won't be until Tuesday. I forgot about Labor Day 😒
If the pots have a hole in the bottom, you can pop them on a tray of large rocks with water, as the water evaporate it will keep the soil somewhat moist (this usually lasts a week or so) it doesn't work perfectly, but it's better than nothing!
@HazelAndPlants Yep, did that with the others! Some of them just weren't as happy.
