It’s been a while since I’ve shared my #ElephantBush, Brittney, so here’s a little appreciation post for her and her beauty!
She’s getting watered in her fancy pusheen bowl. She’s a VERY thirsty plant, very wrinkly, but soon no more! She will be rejuvenated with that good ol rain H2O.

I really adore the elephant bushes, the shape and color of their leaves, their little branches— too cute! 🐘🌱

Omg pusheen! Sharing my plant pot 🐈‍⬛ 🐈
@KinderPlants Oh! so I need that now, okay cool thank you 😂 my collection 🐈‍⬛ 🐈
@itsjordan ahhh do you have the subscription box??? I’ve wanted to get that for years but live in Europe & shipping is extortionate
@KinderPlants I used to get it, yes!! I stopped a handful of years ago because I was running out of room and ways to use some of the items haha
@itsjordan since when should that stop anyone 😂😂😂 (and this is why my house is full of sh*t)
@KinderPlants Oh, I know, the rest of my room is 30 squishmallows, jellycat plushies, sharks, glass figurines, pins, snowglobes, and whatever else knickknack that I thought was neat 😭 I’ve always said that once I have my own home it’ll be the most cozy decorated place because my room is packed to the max
How beautiful! I love mine, too. I’m so excited to see all the new growth coming in lately, which I’ll have to take pictures of! But here is a pic of her from a couple months ago 😊💚🪴
@coffeeNcalathea I’ve never seen these before 🤩What’s the story morning glory ???
@coffeeNcalathea @coffeeNcalathea Jellycat is really great, I actually had a major spinal surgery about 7 years ago and I was gifted one of their cat plushies, and now I have a handful of them. I recently got that cat plushie its own sardine from jellycat too 😂
@itsjordan Lovely little gal you have there . Just think if we stay on this app to long. We’re gonna need a extra house for the plants .
@coffeeNcalathea Bahah, my cool spooky cat— thank you, he gets to hold onto all the rubber bracelets I acquire and look cool while doing it
@ILoveMyPlants I think you’re right 😬 They deserve their own castle
@coffeeNcalathea Oh that’s a perfect explanation. Let’s see if I got it right (lol) They put a sweet older lady in the gift shop BTW I know her ! To play on people’s hearts and buy buy buy .(lol) just kidding
I just have 2 pitiful cuttings 😂 any tips to get them nicer looking?

The one on the right is variegated
@NotableKonjac Oh no, little twigs— for starters, they look very thirsty I think 😂 the leaves are really wrinkled and thin
Cuteeee
Sweet. Do you find bottom watering is better for your succulents?
@QuickKalopanax I do a little bit of both depending on the succulent, I just water in whatever way avoids getting it on the leaves. Often I’ll water it from the top, underneath leaves and then let it sit in the drained out water for a few minutes, so it’s kind of both at the same time. This method has worked well for me!
@itsjordan It was just watered 2 days ago. Should I water again?
@NotableKonjac Really? Have you checked on the roots recently to see if there’s many? If there aren’t many roots then it wouldn’t be sucking up water because the leaves look super dehydrated and that could be why possibly. I wouldn’t water again at the risk of rotting the stem
@itsjordan they're 2 month old cuttings so they don't have a ton of roots like full plants but they do have some roots 😊 also, does it look leggy to you as far as the spacing of the leaves or is that amount of spacing normal for this plant?
@NotableKonjac They do look a tad bit leggy, the leaves should be quite dense if you look at my elephant bush. By 2 months it should’ve already been creating new branches and decent root system. They just don’t seem to be sucking up nutrients, but if they have some roots then I’m not sure why they wouldn’t be 🤔
@BorGiKat Hey there! There’s a lot of things that could upset your plant, and many things to ask yourself:

How often do you water it and how do you water it?
—> I water mine when I notice a lot of wrinkly leaves, that’s a very clear sign of thirst, and I avoid getting any water on the leaves because this can upset a lot of plants. I’m a huge stressor for having a pot with drain holes and having soil that is made for succulents, aka it needs to be gritty. Also when I water, I gently shake the pot and tilt it to be sure all the excess water is out to avoid the chance of overwatering.

What kind of lights are you providing it, how much?
—>I know a lot of people keep them outside and in direct sun, I do believe they like that, just be careful of the sun being too harsh and burning the leaves. I personally keep mine inside and under a grow light for 12 hours. Before, I had her in a mostly shaded window that would get maybe an hour of semi direct sunlight.

Is it near anything potentially harmful or is the environment too inconsistent?
—> if it’s indoors, having it near heaters or any type of unit like that could be upsetting. If it’s outside and the weather is fluctuating a lot, this can also be upsetting for the plant. Consistency is good.

Bugs?
—> Bugs could be harmful, make absolutely sure there aren’t any in there!
