My #AlocasiaZebrina’s newest leaf is almost all the way open, and the next one is close behind (it’s sticking up in front of the new one in the second picture). Always get so excited for new #Alocasia leaves! And my brother, the wonderful @Borophyll got me this beautiful little #AlocasiaMaharani for my collection! It’s so pretty 😍 and it was so good to spend time with him this week! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #AlocasiaAddicts #babevila #PLANTMAFIA

What a stunner! I've got an elephant ear similar coming that I hope one day gets that large #inspiration 😍
Update: The Zebrina has a THIRD new leaf in the works now! Three new leaves in such a short time! She must be a happy girl 😇🪴. ps-the white in the soil is big chunks of perlite. Kinda looks like mushrooms so I don’t want anyone to worry! Lol
Ugh this is such a beautiful plant!
I'm so eager for my Alocasia Zebra to shoot out new growth! 🙏🏼 Yours looks fantastic, any special tips or tricks? 🤓

Btw, your brother's username is AWESOME. Respect for a fellow 90s-era Adam Sandler fan 😂
@stephonicle Haha I’ll tell him he has a kindred spirit! My success with my alocasia can be contributed to a good, chunky soil mix with lots of amendments to make it airy and well-draining! Probably the most important thing that made the biggest difference! I mixed indoor potting mix, orchid bark, coco husk, perlite, and lava rocks. And I only switched to this plastic pot a few weeks ago, after seeing how amazing all of @PoisedAlbo’s plants look! It’s super well-draining itself, and I like that I can keep an eye on the roots through it! About 2 weeks after the switch is when I really noticed my alocasia pushing out all these new leaves! A+ combo, I am switching the rest of my aroids to this type of pot 😊
@BabeVila thank you so much for the tips! 🙏🏼 That's good to know about the plastic pots with the slits in the sides. Mine is due for repotting soon, I'll definitely be using that pot type as well as your soil mix recipe 😊
@stephonicle always happy to help 💖
@GuruSuperchili I haven’t, it seems pretty happy as is, but maybe in the future i will consider some kind of climbing support. I have poles in some of my vining plants
