#ZebraElephantEar Discussion

Hello you'll! Catalina is my first zebra elephant ears plant, I adopted from a friend. At the beginning was ok and it started to overgrow his pot, so I re-poted in a bigger home, but I believe that the soil had some plague.

I'm not sure what this means. At first, I have two, they were weeping, and now this.

Rescue plant found drenched in water. Are these just signs of overwatering or does it have a fungal / bacterial infection that I need to treat?

Wilty alocasia zebrina :(

The leaves are browning at the tops and one leaf is loosing its color. I love this plant.. any ideas

Why is she like this? 😆

All the leaves have fallen but the roots look awesome. Should I keep at it or is he dead?

#help what am I doing wrong 🥲 she’s been doing fine, sprouted and unfurled the middle leaf since I’ve had it. I noticed the roots were coming out of the bottom of her pot so I decided to give her some more room and repot, the one leaf also dropping before I repot it, I was hoping this would help. I woke up this morning to the stem like snapped and it completely dropped, I propped it up hoping there’s some chance of saving it #Zebrina

Hi, I just bought a beautiful Alocasia Elephant Ear and am wondering how long they can live indoors as a houseplant? Curious too how old are yours?

#PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #BareNekkidPlants #DIYPlanter #AlocasiaAddicts #Alocasia #ShareYourProcess Well Cuddles the overly affectionate Alocasia has a Cuddle buddy!! Cuddles is bad for sticking his damn leaves in my face anytime I’m trying to do anything. Nothing like an Alocasia leaf to the face when you’re not expecting it 😅 so I went and bought Cuddles a little spoon, and I wanted a zebra! Unfortunately when the Human Bean Sprouts and I had removed all his soil and gotten Little Spoon potted up in his Vase I noticed the colour change in about 1/3 of his roots… freaking root rot!! Little spoon is the 4th plant from this specific wholesaler (provides my local hardware stores plants) with root rot, including Warren the peace Lily. So back out of the vase he came which had to be resterilised, and into the Baking Soda root bath, which is one tablespoon of baking soda in a litre of water, swish the roots around and dunk a few times to loosen and remove any loose compromised roots and left to dry for 5-10 mins. Once the roots aren’t actively damp we used the misting bottle of RO water to wash them off and remove any remaining baking soda mix, spraying from the stem down the roots until they’re dripping again, and then sprayed a bit more to be sure turning the plant all around. Usually baking Soda is applied as a soil watering additive so it’s important to rinse nekkid plants when using treatments. Little spoon has been reinstalled in fresh water and nice clean vase next to Cuddles on the fridge top 😍
