Holy Chop!!
After a few years I decided to completely chop back this plant.
I do yearly trims to maintain it and clear out any dead leaves etc.
It was thinning on the top and so I decided to completely chop it to the rim of the pot.
This plant had grown out to 6-7 feet long and every year I trim back to about 2 feet long.
This December I cut it alllll off and this is its progress report!
Two months later and itβs filling up nicely!!

@Artistic_Stoner thatβs a fact! π€they do grow like crazy but if I tried propagating it wonβt work for me lol. Oooh excited for you! lol youβre welcome!!
@julesplants the best & fastest way Iβve propagated these was submerge the ends in water & in a few weeks i usually have roots! Hope you post another update in a couple months, Iβm sure itβll have exploded even more π€
@Artistic_Stoner for sure I will! And I tried multiple methods to prop it and nothing lol
@julesplants dang ! Well, at least the mother plant responds well to a trim & gives you explosive growth! Canβt wait to see an update, happy growing friend βΊοΈ
@Artistic_Stoner thank you thank you!
@julesplants My favorite way to "propagate" is by division. Just dig up a decent chunk of the plant and re-pot it into a new container. Back fill the empty spot in the large pot and get it into the sun. It will fill back in very nicely.
If you pull out like 1/4 of the pot, you can split that into two or three smaller chunks and plant them all together in a larger pot, and they too will fill that pot up in one growing season. π

@UltraKoreanfir TRUEEEE I forgot about that! I could do that but honestly with how fast and how much this plant grows idk if I want more than one π
I just like experimenting and growing babies lol
@julesplants I love mezzo. I've planted it outside for several years. This is the first year my over wintering is working. I just left it in it's big pot and brought the whole thing inside. It takes up too much room, but I wanted to try.
@UltraKoreanfir itβs sooo cute and it looks sooo good! Yess thatβs awesome! Iβm glad it worked out!!
@theloveofplants yessss hahaha youβre welcome!
