Ladybug solved my zebra plant bug problem!
Iβve been having bug problems for months with my zebra plant. Nothing worked. Finally today is the first time I put my plant outside and that awesome ladybug is taking care of the problem! #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #helpfromnature #GregGang

Beautiful lady, great photo and - if it was possible - an extra thumbs up for the #helpfromnature tag. π·

@CorvidFan thank you π
You can buy more ladybugs and lacewing larvae and even praying mantis eggs at most local nurseries. Thatβs the best way to get rid of the bad bugs is to invite the good predators to take care of them. Thatβs also why I leave any spiders on my plants also. If the good bugs donβt get rid of the infestation then almost nothing else will except maybe systemic poisons like bonide granules but I try to avoid using that if I donβt need too. Iβd rather let ladybugs do all the work. And they will stay as long as thereβs bugs for them to eat
@SirLiquorice
This is fascinating. I had no idea.
Where I am there's another invasive beetle that damages plants but by comparison it's a straight up wolf, rather than a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"Popillia japonica was found for the first time in B.C. in the False Creek area of Vancouver in 2017. P. japonica is an invasive, regulated pest that feeds on the roots of turf grass and foliage of more than 300 plant species including both food and landscape plants. If this pest spreads, it could cause damage to B.C.βs agricultural sector, as well as food and ornamental gardens and turf in lawns, parks, sports fields and golf courses."
