MY SNAKE PLANT MADE A BABY IN JUST 5 months lol #HappyPlants @princesspitstop @Katecosmos @MariansOasis @CutePolypremum @Cactus_Jasmine @DaringColtsfoot @πŸ‘» @ThistleBeCute @HoyaAddict @iwannalivex3 It’s the first time I had checked my plant in 1 month! Do you think I should put it in soil or not now? If you can see the tiny baby!!! SWEET BABIES it’s so super tiny! #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #SucculentLove #rooting #SnakePlant #lovesuccs #rootdevelopment it’s currently a different plant from the plant added because that plant I listed died without me knowing it was knocked off anyway I now know that you should let a plant callous! Edit: wait… DO I SEE A SECCOND ONE IN THE PICTURE!?
4ft to light, indirect
3” pot with drainage
Last watered 6 months ago

@Saturn572 omg, so cute!! πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜± I think I see two as well! πŸ₯°

I am not the best a succulents, but I believe it’s best to wait a little bit, until the pups are large enough to handle that transition. I’ll see what Heidi thinks! @princesspitstop Have you ever had this adorable situation?
@DreamMachine no it’s actually my first time!! I tried doing this and like propagation but I didn’t let the plant callous so it died! Good thing I learned! Now it’s time to wait for my snake to make the baby bigger!!
@Saturn572 @DreamMachine Ahhh look at that little pup!! I've never propagated a snake plant in water before. But looking at the roots it looks like it could possibly be time to transition.But of course make sure the soil is chunky. CHUNKY SOIL DANCE! πŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸ˜πŸ‘Maybe someone else has experience with water propagating. If not you might have to become the expert through experimentation. πŸ₯ΌπŸ§ͺ Then I'll be asking you next time I try to water prop. πŸ₯°
@Saturn572 The only thing I'm really worried about is the pup being under water. If you keep it in water maybe don't put as much water that it cover the baby but enough that it covers the roots?
@princesspitstop yes! I was thinking the same thing!
@Saturn572 Keep me posted on how it's going! 😁
@princesspitstop right on it!
@Saturn572

This is such wonderful news!
Don't we feel awesome when our plants make us feel awesome?!!!!!

I don't have any experience with a Snake plant but the lovely ladies who commented have the right stuff and it looks like you got plenty of good advice for raising your "pup"...

Have fun.
Enjoy! πŸ˜πŸ˜€πŸ¦„πŸŽ†πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰
@Saturn572 @DreamMachine @princesspitstop it’s so exciting!! From what I understand it’s okay for the new developing pup to be underwater. Wait to separate it until it has a root system of its own. Or keep it with the mother cutting and plant them together.
@Saturn572
Oh wow you and me have the same variety of snake plant and congrats on the pup!
@Saturn572 you can go ahead and move it to soil anytime. Snake plants are incredibly resilient and handle the transition from water to soil quite well. Pot it up in some cactus soil mixed with either perlite or pumice rock (I prefer pumice because it doesn't eventually float to the top of the soil like perlite, but perlite is much easier to find). Do half cactus soil, half perlite/pumice. Once in soil, it will need to start growing soil roots to replace the water roots. The pups will eventually push up through the soil ☺️
@Saturn572 As far as putting the prop in soil, I would wait until the roots get a bit longer and stronger.
What are we looking at? Educate me please?
@DaringColtsfoot if you look closely to the left, there is a green spot. I’m very happy that ITS A SNAKE PLANT PUP IT WAS A SUCSESS!!! so basically it happens in a propagation
@princesspitstop i’ve tried so many times to propagate my snake maybe I’m not drying them out enough. How long did it take for it to read in water? Help! οΏΌhardening them off plant.
Wow..just like my Bromeliad and her pup I've Never separated.
@Loveplants28 you have to let it sit for a day, and touch the wound. Is it dry or wet? If it’s wet let it dry.
@Loveplants28 I have never propagated them in water before. Only in soil. You need well draining soil like a succulent or cactus soil. Cut them as seen in the picture. Not all of them will produce pups so the more you cut to propagate the better your chances are. Plant into dry soil and wait a week before watering. Let the soil dry out completely in between waterings. It took me from start to pup at least 3 months so be patient. I also added a pic of the pups today. If I can do it you can do it! πŸ˜πŸ‘
