About Peperomia axillaris
Did you know Peperomia plants belong to the pepper family, along with black peppercorns? Their fruits and seeds have traveled one of the longest distances ever recorded, over 3000 miles to an island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, while stuck to a bird's feet! 🦅 They can be easily propagated by leaves which make them super easy to share with friends!

How to fertilize Peperomia axillaris
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Peperomia axillaris after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Time for another edition of #ThirstyThursdays with the #brunchataudreys crew!!! Check out this disaster of a plant! I honestly have no idea what this plant is…it MIGHT have started as a peperomia axillaris but it is unrecognizable now! That’s okay! I love it anyway! @PoisedAlbo @PlantJedi @Chevysgirl11 @TheOddAsity @ILoveMyPlants @CourtlyKingfern @SweetAzurebluet @Ninabeena @UltraKoreanfir @SuperblyLilac @Michelle5986 @Amateurbotany @Arid_oasis @BabeVila @craaa777 @ehery @elisenavidad @FitBrowallia @JenniB81 @JenniferNoel

Yellowing leaves Hello! I’ve had what I think is a taco leaf #Peperomia for about a year. I repotted, not transplanted, about a month ago and while there is constantly new growth appearing, the older leaves are yellowing. I water about once a week when the soil is dry about two inches in, the root ball is tight but I’ve aerated the top, applied a 1/4 strength 10/15/10 fertilizer and he sits in a pot that has direct filtered sun about 3-5 hours a day. He’s also under a grow light we leave on about 10 hours a day since the sun will be very filtered when our outdoor trees fill in. I’m newer to plants and find yellowing leaves never mean the same thing! Anyone with experience on this plant species with any advice? I tend to be overbearing when my plants are not healthyhy looking😂

I want to start anew pot with plants I rooted in water. What soil should I use? #Peperomia

I just received a mystery box of plants and I'm so happy with all of them, but some of them I'm completely new to, does this boy look alright? He lots a ton of pods in shipment so I'm worried he's stressed #Peperomia

This plant is growing well right now, but during shipping it lost a lot of its “leaves”. I’m afraid it’s going to grow very leggy and not be able to support its self. Should I cut the stem? #Peperomia

My peperomia is really struggling right now… his leaves are turning yellow, then brown, then shriveling and falling off. I’m hesitant to look at the roots bc it’s winter and I don’t want him to freeze. Any suggestions? #Peperomia

Peperomia Axillaris? I believe this guy is a Peperomia Axillaris (per his care card). But I can't find that peperomia variety in Greg's database. I have him labeled as a Pincushion Peperomia but I don't think that's the same thing. Anyone have any experience with this type of sudo-succulent? #succulentsquad #peperomia

Late #freshleaffriday! Who loves TACOS?! - Paco the little baby taco plant I got a few weeks ago surprised me with these little "stalks"?? I'm not sure what's going on, but it's new growth!

I got this girl already looking a little rough. She’s awful pale. Will she green up or is she doomed? #PrayerPepper
