Semi-hydro tips? Hello! Im thinking of making my beautiful Thai con semi-hydro, since I think sheās struggling in soil a little bit. Sheās had root rot once or twice, and after treating the roots Iāve put her in water each time (ironic, I know) so she can regrow her roots, and she honestly does great; new roots and new shoots! Since Iām still a student on a studentās budget, the extent of my "hydroponic" set up is just placing a plant straight in a glass of water.. which works for props, but maybe not so much for long term plant growth!! Hence the semi-hydro idea. I canāt find any LECA or anything in my local plant shops, but I think I may have found an Amazon listing for some (pictures attached since I want to make sure itās the right stuff!). If I go semi, is this the only substrate I need? Or do I need to mix in other things like coir? Better yet, will normal rocks work if I place them and the plant in water? (See attached pic) As for the water itself, is there specific hydroponic fertiliser that I need, or will standard stuff work just as well? And is it better to have a singular container filled with medium and water at once, or more of a self watering situation? (Pics attached) If youāve made it through this monster post then thank you! And if you donāt want to answer these questions directly I will very happily just take some links to articles or YouTube videos! Yellow growth on soil surface #Monstera having a little difficulty with this Thai con, and getting yellow growth (mold?) on the soil surface, large pot potentially a bit too large and within a foot of a window with a good screen to prevent leaf burn. Watered only when Greg reminds and humidity probed before to confirm dryness. Any thoughts on what the growth is? And from there best treatment and how to not get it in the future?

Just got this guy as a propagation any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you #Monstera
