Crassula Orbicularis
About Crassula Orbicularis
Plants in the Crassula genus are amazingly diverse and come in an incredible assortment of sizes and colors. Many of the ones we grow today are native to a small region in South Africa, which makes that diversity even more amazing! They're super low maintenance plants that can handle long periods of drought, so great if you're prone to skipping waters (we won't tell). 🫢 Make sure they get plenty of sunlight and that they're planted in a pot with a drainage hole and they'll be happy as can be!

How to fertilize Crassula Orbicularis

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Crassula Orbicularis after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Succulent help! Hi all! I’ve been reading high and low about this plant, but I just can’t seem to figure out what she needs. Not many people on this app seem to have this plant either, so I can’t find any other forums. This happened while I was away for 2 weeks, friend was watching (but I was texting her Greg notifications, I have a water meter checker too) and now it’s moved up to the second layer of leaves and I’m nervous. My guess is lack of water? The leaves that are dead are dry and thin and I’m staying to a water schedule, but it’s still a succulent so I don’t wanna overwater. I bought succulent mix, and maybe I need to repot her to that?? I see no mold. I’ve stabbed some holes in the soil so encourage better drainage. Current soil is “normal”. Thanks all!!

Can anyone identify this plant? I’ve searched Google for a while but haven’t been able to find what she is! I know that she can grow a flower from the middle and it is a tall flower. I don’t think she’s a succulent. Thanks all!

Jade is dropping leaves left and right #Crassula I took over this Jade last year from my mother in law as it had become super etiolated in her office. It was in a solid holding pattern over the winter, not much growth but didn’t decline either. In the past month it’s suddenly started shedding all its leaves. I had it under a grow light (12hr/day) and wondered if that wasn’t enriching enough so I moved it to a southwest facing window for natural sunlight (6-10hr/day) and that only has seemed to speed up the shedding process. Any ideas or insight into what’s going on with this poor guy? 😢
