How to fertilize Syringa-Spined Cereus
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Syringa-Spined Cereus after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

#succulentsquad #succulentlove #cereusly Cereus repandus f. monstrose cristate is the full name, or "Yoke Num Chote." I am positive I've walked past them in shops with the idea, "I don't need another Ming Thing." Side by side (pictured), they're actually quite different. I only recently became fascinated by the monstrose/crested phenomenon, and I found this little guide to help me actually speak with authority if this subject comes up in conversation lol. “Cristate: This term is used interchangeably with crested, and refers to the fan-like shape of the plant. Monstrosity: This is another term for monstrose growth patterns, which often feature exaggerated or distorted features. Crested monstrosity: This term is used to describe plants that exhibit both crested and monstrose growth patterns."

Why am I getting brown patches at top of cactus? They are not soft and have some flaky “skin”. Don’t think it’s root rot, could be fungus? #HedgeCactus

is this root rot? i’m repotting my mom’s hedge cactus, which is more than 2 years old in a pot without any drainage. it appears to be root bound, so i blasted it with water to clean the old soil. the roots are apparently healthy because it’s white and hard, not black and mushy. but i’m just concerned because the whole underground base is a bit yellow. all of the yellow base ribs have the same hardness as the green top parts, except for one of them (very slightly soft to touch). i always water it sparingly, and when watering, i’m using greg’s guidelines and it appears to be doing fine. i’m now letting it dry in the sun naked before moving it to the new larger pot. should i do anything to the yellow base, or is it normal?

#succulentsquad Anyone have problems with mealies on your Ming Thing? (That is a bizarre sentence.) This is my 3rd, and all had the same issue. I thought maybe I'm keeping it too warm with too much light. I didn't realize how much sap the MT produces.

Hey you guys,Richard is having a little shedding is that normal?
