About Calathea - Tigrina
Many of the houseplants we used to know as Calatheas now belong to the genus Goeppertia (say that three times fast). These plants have delightfully patterned leaves that come in all sorts of colors and shapes! Commonly known as prayer plants, the leaves of some species fold up at night through a process called nyctinasty meaning night movement! 😴

How to fertilize Calathea - Tigrina

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Calathea - Tigrina after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

#calatheacrew #calathea #goeppertia #newplantmom Hello! I'm new to Greg and plant care generally. Lancelot had been bopping along when suddenly his lower leaves began to discolor a few months ago. I moved him out of direct sun and added fresh soil, but new growth and low leaves are turning brown. What can I do to help him? Should I snip off the sad leaves? #prayersformyprayerplant

Today my calatheas leaves started curling What am I doing wrong? My jungle calathea has been having a hard time in my new home. We have been here about three months. I water from the bottom twice a week and I mist every other day. The leaves have drooped & I figured it was not getting enough light. So I moved it to a lighter rm but out a of directsunlight. I have tried to keeps stable temperature. It was very warm today and the sun was much stronger than usual. I noticed the leaves had curled up at the edges. Any advice will be appreciated .

New to me! I just got her and I’m so nervous I am going to mess up. I have her about 6 feet away from the window and I bought a humidifier for her. Any tips to make sure she stays happy?

Browning edges My calathea is a happy plant but I cannot figure out how to get its edges to stop browning. I’ve used a humidifier in the room it’s in, I keep it hydrated and not too close to sunlight. Anyone know what could be wrong? #RoseCalathea

Stillborn leaf? #RoseCalathea my Bruce grew a great leaf on a new sprout on the right, but it totally passed the growth of the leaf on the left. In fact, the leaf on the left feels dry and a little crusty at the end. Is it possible it’s dead already? And if so, what do I do with it?

Doesn’t look healthy I recently purchased her and she was beautiful. I placed under a grow light but not too close. A few weeks later some of her leaves died off and now she’s not loookg healthy. Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong?
