About Calathea 'Misto'
Many of the houseplants we used to know as Calatheas now belong to the genus Goeppertia (say that three times fast). These plants have delightfully patterned leaves that come in all sorts of colors and shapes! Commonly known as prayer plants, the leaves of some species fold up at night through a process called nyctinasty meaning night movement! 😴

Finding light for Calathea 'Misto' in your home
Calathea 'Misto' may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Calathea 'Misto' in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Calathea 'Misto'
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Calathea 'Misto' after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Rescued calathea #Goeppertia #CalatheaCrew I rescued this calathea, but I fear it was too late. She looks about the same@as she did when I reported her a couple nights ago. Is there any hope? She was so dry when I received her and the previous owner said she’d been “rockin’ the same three leaves” for as long as she’d had her. I’ve repotted, given her new soil, bottom watered thoroughly, and just now misted her leaves. What say you #GregGang?

White dust covering plant leaves Hello, for the last few weeks I’ve been noticing this white dust/powder like covering on the leaves of my Calathea. It’s been in quarantine and I’ve been wiping down all the leaves regularly but it doesn’t seem to be getting better and the general leaf colour is really faded compared to normal. My Google searches seems to be torn between mealybugs and powdery mildew, but I’m not sure what solution to try next!

With Spring getting started, it's time to check for pests! Checked over my Golden Pothos, just to find she was infested with mealybugs! Then I went to my Calathea misto this morning to find she had spider mites!! Time for Spring inspections!

The leaves are starting to be yellow. I do a good water for it, in a humid place following advice, but probably There something else to add? Thanks in advance

What is coming out of the bottoms of my plants? Looked underneath my pots for the first time in longer than I care to admit and found them looking pretty nasty. I can't decipher what's growing here—bugs, roots, fungus, something else...? What do I do about it? #cathedralwindows #sweetbasil #catnip

This plant was doing so well! All of a sudden the ends of the leaves started crisping and looking like this #RoseCalathea

Got these light brown spots developing recently. Have adequate drainage and used MiracleGro indoor plant fertilizer, diluted.

Ahhh one of my very favorite plant babies. I got her from the #gregplantshop and she has been nothing short of fantastic! 😍 I hear some people have trouble with Calatheas, but for whatever reason, they tend to like me. Gertrude sure does! 🥰 #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #calatheacrew #calathea #calatheamakoyana #cathedralwindows #theamigos #jesssjungle

What is this lol? #RoseCalathea it looks like something big took a bite out of my plant. I bought him like this but I didn’t realize until I got home. So I separated it from other plants but what pest could possibly be that big. It almost looks plastic but I know it’s real cus the leaves are rolling in and out. It looks like someone just ripped it. #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PestControl
