Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.

How to fertilize anthurium pterodactyl

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your anthurium pterodactyl after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

What’s wrong with my Painter’s Palette? My Painter’s Palette leaves are turning brown and yellow. I have it in indirect sunlight since I read direct light is too much for it. I water it once a week. Any tips or ideas what might be causing the brown spots? #PaintersPalette

I asked about this particular plant before in a general sense. But the post was a little long. Should I trim these browning leaves completely? :::DEETS IN THE REPLY IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO HELP:::: #sadplant #stoptherot #planthelp #hydroponics #Anthurium

Hello! My one leaf died, the corm is still in good condition, not soaky. What’s the best what to encourage a new leaf? I have it in a clear plastic cup with a dom lid for high humidity. Cheers. #Anthurium

Do these roots look healthy? I’m treating my Painter’s Palette plant for fungal disease (removed spots and sprayed with water+baking soda+soap mixture). The roots look healthy to me, but I’d love another opinion, as I’m still new to plants. Whether the roots are healthy or not, do you recommend repotting while treating for fungus? #PaintersPalette

I’m so happy!! My #anthurium Stanley is doing so good! We have #babies—two new #pups!—and a an #aerialroot! I was trimming away brown sheathes and I’m so relieved I noticed this one was different! I gently peeled the brown sheath away from it and had no clue what was going on here… so I asked ChatGPT for a more immediate answer 😅 It said this was an aerial root! Then I noticed these two coming out of the ground, and I was so excited for what I thought they could be that I asked ChatGPT again—and it confirmed they were basal offsets aka pups! As a #NewPlantMom I’m so relieved to be doing something right! #newplantgrowth #newgrowth #freshleaffriday

Painter's Palette #Anthurium, mine no longer have the red foliage. It's kept near a window that gets indirect light and I water it when dry. What can be causing this?

Is it normal for new growth to stay curled at first? I got this plant from a friend and it was a bit of a rescue mission. Since then, this is the second new leaf growth that I've seen. However, both times, it's stayed curled like this and it looks like it puts a lot of stress on the leaf and the stem. Most of the leaves also show signs of mechanical stress. #Anthurium #NewGrowth

When to remove a flower? Hi all Should I cut back the stem of the older flower? It is no longer yellow but the stem feels strong. Any advice is welcomed!I'm new to this plant (Also any tips of getting rid of gnats, they seem to love being near this plant! Used the same soil for this that I have used for other plants and they aren't affected!) #Anthurium

Doggy Disaster! I came from for lunch and my German shepherd had eaten part of Stanley! I’m going to have to move him but I love him in that corner. I’m also worried about my dog getting sick from chewing on my anthurium. Any tips or tricks to keep your pets away from your larger plants?? #PlantProblems #petProblems #PlantsAndPets #PetsAndPlants #Anthurium #PaintersPalette

Painters Palette in Water I had a bug issue with my Painter’s Palette and while I was cleaning it, I popped the whole plant in water and forgot about it for like a week. When I came back to it, it was thriving! This picture is after growing it in water for months, it’s the happiest it’s ever been. My question - do I just keep it in water and if so, does it need anything added to it as it’s obviously not getting any nutrients from soil? #Anthurium
