The parent plant (Opuntia D. Face) put off way too many pads last year, so I trimmed a bunch and tossed this one in a pot. Cue Operation Big Opuntia Stay Outside All Utah Winter. There was a point in February where the wind blew this guy out of the pot, and that's when I saw it had miraculously grown roots. Truly, this plant just won't stop growing.

White patches on prickly pear? I just got this prickly pear yesterday and am very excited about it! I noticed that there are some whiter patches on it - is this normal or anything to be concerned about? I also noticed 3 tiny black spiders in the bag when I brought it home and am concerned this is a pest, but don’t see any signs of spider mites. #PricklyPear

Frostbite? #DroopingPricklyPear is this frostbite on my cacti? The tips are turning pink and purple, and the green is fading. They are growing a ton of little babies off thier sides though.
