Albo Marginata Hoya Verticillata
About Albo Marginata Hoya Verticillata
With over 500 species and even more cultivars, there's a Hoya out there for everyone! They're native to Southeast Asia and their common name, waxplant, refers to their thick, waxy leaves which help them retain water in the heat. They're excellent climbers and will take off if you give them a trellis to grow on. Their other-worldly, star-shaped flowers are often fragrant and come in brilliant shades of red, pink, yellow, and more!

I just wanted to tell the cool story of my Hoya. So a long time ago during the Great Depression my great grandma got this Hoya. It’s just been living this whole time in my family. This one plant has been propagated so many times. One time we left one of these plants in a basement closet for almost a year and it was still alive!! We didn’t do anything to it we just forgot about it. I think it’s like the easiest plant ever to take care of. It literally can’t die!!

White Mold ? Pest? My Hoya has so white spots that look like dust, or mold. I member hearing about this as a pest. If so how do I get rid of it?

New plant babies! Hoya and tradescantia Hi all! It’s been a while. Life got tough and busy. But yay, My neighbor surprised me with some recently potted Hoya cuttings. I don’t know much about them but I saw them flowering once and they are amazing. That will be my goal! What are your tips and tricks for care and getting them to bloom? Also got a pretty little tradescantia from Trader Joe’s, lol. I’ve heard they’re fairly easy, anything I should know though that can go wrong?? Thanks a bunch 🥰 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewPlantMom #Hoya #TradescantiaZebrina #advice #help

How to support vining hoyas with small root system? I have a couple of hoyas that are in small pots because they have a small root system but they're getting really long. Each has a trellis at the moment but they're getting top heavy and I've not had much luck finding small heavy pots to keep them from tipping over (so for now, the top of the trellis leans against the wall or a plant light). Are there different trellis shapes that work best for climbing plants? Should I let them trail instead? Suggestions welcome. I’m SOOOO EXCITED and HAPPY! 👀 Looks like my 1 year old Hoya Mathilde is likely going to 🌸 BLOOM 🌸 like crazy for the 1st time (and hopefully keep all her NEW 20+ penduncles for next time 😮) She stopped growing leaves and is only growing flowers, even on all her long empty leaf stems. 😍. She’s a 1st time bloomer! OMG so exciting to watch it go through all these stages 🎉💚👏🏻 1st time I’ve ever been through a Hoya blooming process. None of my other Hoyas have bloomed before. My Variegated Lipstick 💄🪴and Goldfish 🐡🪴 Plants are also currently blooming 😍! #NewGrowth #PetsAndPlants #BeforeAndAfter #hoyas #HoyaHangout #hoyamathilde #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #GrowLights #hoyablooms #hoyaflowers

How do I help ensure it flowers? 🤩 Excited plant parent here - Sharon has the first start of a flower... I think, anyways? Previous new leaves started off kind of looking like a magic wand, lol. This stem is shooting off in an unusual spot and is pink! I recently moved it before I noticed the flowering stem - I'm wondering if I should move it back to its old spot? It might have been warmer but had less light. Never thought I'd ever get one to flower so any other tips appreciated! 😊 TIA #greggang! #Hoya #hoyaobovata #hoyahangout #hoyaheads #hoyablooms #flowering #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantfriendsarethebestfriends #ballondusoleil

Hello! I noticed my Hoya Fungii has a shiny black raised spot on its stem. Does anyone know what this could be? I haven’t noticed anything else out of the ordinary aside from the spot. It is hard, and I wasn’t able to wipe it off with isopropyl alcohol. I thought maybe it could be black scale but it won’t come off, and seems flatter and more rectangular than the photos I saw through a Google search. Also the plant is a bit dusty, but I don’t believe any of that is pest related fuzz. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks! #Hoya
