About Madagascar Dragon Tree
Did you know the genus name Dracaena comes from the Greek for ‘female dragon’? Some plants in this genus have thick, red resin which was reminiscent of dragon blood! 🐲 Dracaenas are native to Africa, Asia, and northern Australia, and are known for being super easy to care for. Some species can go months without water, and many can grow well in low sunlight.

How to fertilize Madagascar Dragon Tree
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Madagascar Dragon Tree after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Ok now I’m stressin🥲 Hi fellow Greggers! I posted a question almost a week ago asking about my dragon plant and that it was losing leaves quite quickly, the leaves that were lost were completely brown. But now it’s starting to lose the green leaves as well and the root of the leaves is looking brown. The plant is starting to look quite sparse and I noticed that there’s a whole branch in the middle that has zero leaves on it and the branch itself, also looks scorched at the top, I’ve added a photo for reference. It seems like the side of the plant that is facing the sunlight is doing much better, whereas the side of the plant that’s facing the inside of my house is not doing well. (Attached a photo looking from the underside of the section that faces away from the window. There’s a literal hole where leaves have shed 🥲) Should I be rotating it? i’m following Greg‘s recommendations 100%. I did notice some white flecks on a few of the branches. Google says it could be Mealybugs? Lots happening here I know. Any insight would be awesome! Thank you. 😭🤎

Question about brown leaves on Floof (dragon tree … I think) Hi friends! My little Floof is slightly worrying me. We brought him home a couple weeks ago, I purchased him from an outdoor market and so I’m not sure if he was kept outdoors always… But since bringing him home, he’s losing a lot of leaves. I took a photo with the leaves that shed today so you can see. It’s like one second they’re green, and the next they are brown and have completely shed, almost like how hair sheds from your head naturally each day. I’m wondering if this is a seasonal thing, I’m located in Costa Rica and it is the start of our rainy season (although yes, he’s completely inside lol) and I wonder if this is just a natural shed or if it’s something to be concerned about. His soil looks good, any insight would be appreciated.

Crazy new growth on my Dragon Tree!

Is this fungal? Appeared on my dragon tree this week. I water with distilled water every 7-10 days (I always feel the soil first). Lives in a glazed terracotta pot under a grow light. Leaves are yellowing more frequently than usual. Solutions?

When will he start looking like other dragon trees? Do I trim the bottom leaves so he looks like the dragon trees I see in pictures? Or just let him be? I’m afraid he will get so tall and start falling over #HappyPlants #NewPlantMom
