About ZZ Plant
ZZ plants have survived 42 million years of plant pathogens, pests, and climate change. Their resilience and ability to tolerate water stress and low light has elevated them to international horticultural importance! Out of 15 plants tested, the ZZ plant was the best at absorbing and removing out of the air a major component found in gasoline. ⛽️

How to fertilize ZZ Plant
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your ZZ Plant after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

ZZ plant propagation? I got this awesome #ZzPlant for my birthday, but she unfortunately has a couple of small broken stems :( they’re not snapped on the outside, just on the inside. Is it possible for me to snip off the broken stems at/slightly above the breakage and propagate? Is the smaller one too small to do so with? Should I just remove and discard? I have the breakage points circled in the attached photos so it’s easier to see. Thanks in advance! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PropagationStation #PlantTherapy #NewPlantMom #PlantCorner #PlantShelfie #HappyPlants #help #helpneeded #zzcuttings

I just wanted to know if my plant is ok #ZzPlant

What causes the stem to yellow and what should I do with it? #ZzPlant

Can anyone tell me what these brown streaks on the top of the leaves and stems are? There's also some round spots on the stems that are almost like ulcers. #ZzPlant

When do I put this in dirt? I stuck this clipping in water several months ago. To my surprise , the roots sprouted and continued to grow (I have another that didnt do much).

How may feet from the window are you able to grow ZZ well in? In the southwestern United States, where it’s always sunny, specifically. #ZzPlant

Xena is not so much a warrior! #ZzPlant She is very much a princess! 🤦♀️ I have had this plant for 3 years and have only ever got 1 shoot to start to grow-and that was just last month. One day the new shoot looked really good, watering day came, and then 2 days later the shoot was dead. I have considered repotting. I bottom water all plants. It is almost watering day, so no judgement on the soil! 😅What am I doing wrong?

I’ve had my ZZ for a year and a half now, overwatered once and thought I was going to lose her, but she bounced back! Let ZZs dry out between waters and be sure to trim dying leaves off immediately when you see them. Also, if a whole stem is dying, prune right down to soil, or a little bit underneath, then cover over with some soil - it’ll grow right back. When pruning, be sure to use the right size shears because ZZs do not like jagged cuts.
