If there’s ants, they’re likely there to suck the nectar that another pest is causing on the plant. I had ants on my lemon tree because of mealies. So you need to treat for pests & ants.
I treated for pests (use whatever you would use indoors) or grab an insecticide from a big box store that would cover pests & ants.
