Why have my kalanchoe tomentosa leaves fallen flat.

I'm not sure whats going on with my kalanchoe tomentosa. My google search suggested underwatering, but I watered it 5 days ago. I have it outside where it gets direct sunlight in the mornings and late afternoons. I live in Hawaii so the temp doesn't vary too much, though it did get really humid last night. I had noticed the leaves had spread out from when I originally had bought it, but it wasn't too bad. It was okay last night, but this morning the leaves had fallen flat.

I have another kalanchoe tomentosa that I got before this one, and its doing fine. Though I'm not sure if its a different type. This app identifies them as the same plant.

First picture is how it looked when I first bought it, the next two are what it looks like now. Last pic is the other kalanchoe tomentosa. #succulentsquad #kalanchoe,
Welcome to Greg Aerezia ๐Ÿ˜Š

Are the leafs squishy and bendy? It might be your climate drying it out faster than you think. I live in Florida which isnโ€™t as hot as Hawaii, but still humid, and one of my succulents specifically will begin to wrinkle and need to be rewatered a few days later (maybe 4 days) after only being in full sun 3h mid day.

Also, when you last watered it, did it perk back up or did it stay slumped? Is there any type of discoloration on any leaf?๐Ÿ˜ฏ If you gently lift it out of the pot, can you tell if the soil is completely dried out already or if itโ€™s still moist?
@PlantingPeace The leaves on the inside are squishy but the outside ones aren't. They feel pretty firm. It didn't perk up when I watered it, but stayed the same. I just got it 2 weeks ago so I had planned to water it every 10 days since it was recommended to do 2-3 times a month. 2 of the leaves have small yellowish spots on them, and the soil on top was pretty dry, but low down feels slightly damp.
@Aerezia okay, if the base feels damp still then I would refrain from watering, as you had intended to. Everything else your doing seems to be in line with what you should be doing ๐Ÿค” this is odd. The only thing other that I could think of is that when it dried drink water, the leafs spread to full expansion from being filled similar to how a balloon expands, that wouldnโ€™t explain the inside leafs being squishy though, unless they cooked in the sun, but they donโ€™t have any browning so I donโ€™t think itโ€™s that either๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜–
Do you think you could add #SucculentSquad #Kalanchoe to the post so maybe more people see it? Iโ€™ll try to see if I can find any fellow Gregger with this plant that might be able to help in the meantime since, I have succulents but not this specific one ๐Ÿฅฒ
@PlantingPeace Yeah of course. Thank you so much for all the help
And thank you for your patience @Aerezia ๐Ÿ˜… I didnโ€™t realize how hard it would be to find ppl who have this plant considering I always see it at the plant store ๐Ÿฅฒ
@FirstCanna @Propa ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ I just went through my whole friends list oasisโ€™s and you two were the only ones I could notice that had this plant (or similar). Do you think you can help Aerezia with troubleshooting, please? ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿค—
Absolutely! So believe it or not I actually am in the same boat ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ I went out to water the other day and saw this on mine(see pic). I believe this is what sunburn looks like for this type of succulent. I moved mine inside and it hasnโ€™t spread to any other leaves. Iโ€™m sorry youโ€™re going through this too! This is a fairy new plant for me so Iโ€™m still learning on this one
Guess it would have helped if I added the pic ๐Ÿ˜‚ ok here goes
@Propa Ohh sunburn isn't something I considered, but I guess anything is possible! >.< I'll bring mine inside. Thank you for the help! Fingers crossed our plants recover! ๐Ÿคž
Anytime! Good luck with your baby ๐Ÿฅฐ Iโ€™m sure with the tlc they both get theyโ€™ll recover in no time!

Iโ€™ve had a couple of small panda plant cuttings and what youโ€™re describing doesnโ€™t sound great to me. Once the flattened/no perking up behavior starts that has usually meant the cuttings are dead/dying. Itโ€™s misleading because the leaves can stay plump and lush while the guys have begun drying out. Yours doesnโ€™t look completely flat so see if you can gently get a look at the โ€œstemโ€ of the plant. If itโ€™s looking dry and brittle then you might be out of luck. If the stem still has a nice color and flexibility then keep taking care of it as you have and cross your fingers. Iโ€™m no expert on these but your description rung a bell so I had to share my experience.
Repot time! You need a porous pot like tericotta or cement w/ gritty soil, & then a gradual increase in sunlight. Hope that helps!

I love the fuzzy succulents! ๐Ÿ˜
@Aerezia Welcome to Greg! I agree with @PlantingPeace ๐Ÿ’ฏ
@jr @roxyvivien @KikiGoldblatt Thank you! I'll check the stem when I get home from work and try to stop at the store for a new pot :)
@Aerezia You're so welcome! โ™ฅ Here's mine I planted in a concrete pot with some unicorn plant succulents. They look very dark in color because I have them growing outside in mostly full sun. And also some cute tiny bbs ๐ŸŒฑ I propicated from leaves (which took a long time, since they are pretty slow growing.)
Hi everyone, a little update on the plant. When I checked the stem, the bigger leaves fell off and the little leaves had gotte little plump. The stem felt okay so I repotted it. A week later I checked the stem and it had basically fallen apart ๐Ÿ˜ž I tried! Hopefully my next one will do better. Thank you for all the help!
