Is her stem destined to be bald forever?

Several months ago, my husband (accidentally) broke a leaf off the end of one of the vines from my Monstera Standelyana. Ever since then, the vine has been growing new segments and getting longer, but there have been no leaves growing from any of the newly formed nodes!

The other stems on the plant are growing leaves just fine, but itโ€™s almost like the leaf breaking incident somehow disrupted the cycle on THIS vine and it forgot how to grow leaves there. Iโ€™ve gotten most of the nodes to sprout using keiki cloning paste in hopes to retrain the vine to grow leaves, but the vine still keeps putting out more bald segments.

Do I just need to chop the vine at the end for a hard reset, or is it going to be like this permanently? #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #MonsteraMonday #Variegated #QuickGrowingPlants #HappyPlants #PlantCorner

Hi! I personally would chop it and see if you can prop it into more pieces. If the plant has enough light - and sounds like it does because the other vines have leaves - then Iโ€™d remove it. ๐ŸŒฑโ˜€๏ธโค๏ธ
@RealSimpleMama Thanks! I always get scared of chopping my babies, but I guess it beats constantly chasing the trail with cloning paste to manufacture leaves manually ๐Ÿ˜
